Junior School: Andrews Cup

The Andrew's Cup, the annual House football competition, took place last week for years 5 and 6 students. This highly anticipated event brought together almost 400 children from the eight houses to compete in either the City or Rovers league. The competition spanned across two days and adopted a league format, with each house facing off against one another.

The Cup was a showcase of inclusivity, exceptional talent and sportsmanship. Throughout the competition, parents, teachers, and fellow students were treated to displays of remarkable skill, thrilling matches, and outstanding team spirit The event was not merely about winning; it was an opportunity for students to demonstrate their abilities while upholding the values of respect and fair play.

Several matches kept spectators on the edge of their seats. As teams battled it out on the field, the tension was palpable, with the outcome of many games hanging in the balance until the final whistle. These nail-biting encounters added an extra layer of excitement to the competition, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the final result.

Whilst a variety of Houses shared the honours for winning their leagues, there could only be one overall winner. A huge well done and congratulations to Portsdown.

ACSIS Season 2 Round Up

Week 6 was the final week of ACSIS Season 2 and this brought to a close a very busy period of fixtures, given the disruption caused by the wet weather before and after Christmas. Not only were there a number of ‘league deciders’ in Senior School, but also a number of finals day festivals to mark the end of the 10-11&U Football and 9&U Netball seasons. Congratulations to all students that played throughout Season 2, and a special well done to those teams that managed to secure medal or trophies.
