THE LION'S DEN U18 FOBISIA Netball Tournament 2023 The U18 FOBISIA Netball Competition at Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur, marked an exciting opportunity for our players, representing our school in their first overseas netball tournament for a number of years. Tanglin entered two teams into the competition, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. Both teams dominated on day 1, winning all their games and securing the top positions in their respective pools. On day 2, the competition intensified as both teams exhibited incredible determination and skill in the Cup placing round. Despite facing injury challenges, our Tanglin B Team demonstrated incredible grit and determination, clinching a convincing victory in their final match and securing an impressive 5th position out of 16 schools. The excitement continued with Tanglin A Team advancing to the Cup Finals against Dulwich. In a closely contested match, our A Team showcased exceptional netball skills, drawing the game to a tense 8-8 with just 2 minutes to go. Ultimately, Dulwich secured the win with a final score of 11-9, placing our Tanglin A Team in a well-deserved 2nd position. This weekend was not only about the competition but also about the spirit of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both Tanglin Netball Teams for their outstanding performances on and off the court. Your hard work and dedication truly shine through. THE LION'S DEN ACSIS 11&U Basketball Finals We had over 50 Junior School students participated in the 11&U ACSIS Basketball Finals at the Canadian International School last weekend. This event marked the culmination of what has been a fantastic season of junior basketball. The Tanglin Basketball programme has experienced remarkable growth, and we are delighted to see our students thoroughly enjoying their journey of developing a deeper understanding of the game and expanding their skill set while competing against other schools. The enthusiasm and passion for basketball are evident, and we are excited to announce that, due to its popularity, we will continue to run the basketball program next term to further reward the hard work and dedication of our students. A heartfelt congratulations to all our players who participated in the 11&U ACSIS Basketball Finals last weekend, in particular the Boys A team who won all their games on the way to being crowned champions! We look forward to another term of exciting basketball ahead!

THE LION'S DEN Pan Pacific All Schools Touch Tournament 2023 This weekend the U14 and the U20 Touch teams, took part in the annual Pan Pacific Touch Tournament at Singapore American School. Our girls demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship, with all teams securing top 4 positions in their respective divisions. A special shoutout to the U14 Touch teams, achieving a clean sweep in the finals, winning both Gold and Silver medals. The U20 Lions squad reached the final with great determination, unfortunately losing 3-2 but earning a well-deserved silver medal. The U20 red team, fielding a team of U16 players, showcased remarkable talent, reaching the top 4 in their division. Tanglin Touch continues to stand out as the leading force for Touch in Singapore, and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of our teams. The future looks bright, and we are eagerly anticipating the excitement of Touch SEASAC in the upcoming season. Congratulations to all our Touch players for their hard work, dedication, and fantastic performances. Go Lions!

THE LION'S DEN ACSIS High School Swimming We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our Merlion swimmers at the High School ACSIS Championships held at NEXUS this past Saturday. The team displayed remarkable performances, setting an impressive tone for the competition season. Our powerful Girls team showcased their prowess, securing a welldeserved 2nd place overall on the pointscore, just behind Nexus. Notably, they clinched victory in the majority of individual events (6 out of 14) and triumphed in one of the two relay events. The young boys team surpassed expectations by achieving a remarkable 100% personal best rate for the day. They secured a commendable 7th place overall, with team captain Anand L earning their highest-placed finish with a remarkable 6th in the competitive boys 50m Freestyle. Medal Winners: Nathalie: 3 Golds (200-400m Free, 200m IM), 1 Silver (100 Free). MVP of the women’s pointscore. Amanda: 2 Golds (100-200m Breast), 2 Bronze (50m Breast, 200m Back). Chloe: 1 Gold (50m Breast), 2 Silver (100-200m Fly), 1 Bronze (50m Fly). GOLD – 4x50m Medley Relay – Tilly, Amanda, Chloe, Nathalie. SILVER – 4x50m Freestyle Relay – Nathalie, Chloe, Amanda, Flora. As we celebrate these achievements, the swim team is gearing up for the upcoming 4-day Singapore Nationals Championships (Short Course) starting this week.
