Coreupt is a simple proposition. A bunch of skiers who believe that we can make great products for people who, like us, would rather have our feet on the snow than our eyes on a spreadsheet. And so we do. Since 2008, weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve taken a simple, proven construction and tested it with our friends, who just happen to be some of the best skiers in the world. GUERLAIN’S SPIRIT

Coreupt skis is the brainchild of Guerlain Chicherit, four time World Freeskiing champion, world Rally Car Driver, multisport athlete and passionate mountain enthusiast. Guerlain moved to Tignes, France, when he was just one year old. Growing up in the mountains, he had opportunities to try many sports, and excelled at all of them. But his passion was skiing, fast, powder, jumps, drops, freedom. After spending 2 years making videos and perfecting tricks in the Alps, Guerlain took his skis and his skills to the world of big mountain skiing. In a few short years his list of awards was unequaled in big mountain skiing, wrapping up 4 IFSA titles. Guerlain’s enthusiasm and impatience drive the Coreupt brand. Coreupt’s mission is to provide quality products with innovative designs to more people. Athlete tested, using proven construction technology and cutting edge designs. As Coreupt grows, so does Guerlain’s influence on the company. We want to win, to push fun, to create opportunities for our generation to have more access to fun. We’ll continue to challenge the status quo by building great products that are easy for skiers to buy, with great margins for dealers, while our athletes continue to push themselves and the culture of skiing in a new direction.

ONE CONSTRUCTION, 28 shapes Coreupt makes skis from wood laminate construction with triaxial fiberglass layers, period. The differences in our skis are based on the camber profile, sidecut, and stiffness. Because we use this â&#x20AC;&#x153;shapersâ&#x20AC;? approach to ski design, it makes choosing the right ski for you super easy. What terrain and snow condition are you going to ski, how aggressively are you going to ski it, and how much do you weigh? From these criteria, you pick your shape, your camber profile, and your size. The single construction approach helps us save money so you save money, reduces the number of quality rejections to the lowest in the industry, and ensures confidence where it counts, on the mountain.

PROOF Our skis are proven in terrain parks, shredding around the whole mountain, and descending huge big-mountain lines. Coreupt is already gaining a following just four years later, with podiums at X-Games, IFSA Overall title in 2011, and significant segments in Matchstick Productions’ films. And in every case, the athletes use exactly the same skis that you can buy. We don’t have limited production, skunk works workshops producing skis that you can’t get.

The freeride ski for purists, R110 is a directional big mountain ski designed for speed and stability, but newly infused this year with a dose of easy turning. Make no mistake, this horse likes to run, but strong skiers and those west of the Rockies might just make this their everyday ski.

This pro model designed with Adrien Coirier is for skiers who like to go fast and work the ski from tip to tail. Directionally oriented, with pronounced tip rise and Camber provides power and precision for strong skiers.

Take the Young Yard, make it fatter and you have the Young Pow. A typical backcountry ski with 92mm under the foot, for kids who prefer deep pow than school. 100% waterproof In the great outdoors, people are directly exposed to weather conditions and need to be prepared for any eventuality. This means the clothing material has to be waterproof. How waterproof it is depends on the membrane, processing and type of coating used. A material’s waterproofness is gauged using the water column (WC) which exerts sufficient pressure for the fabric to start letting water through. If the pressure is above 1,300 mm, the item of clothing is deemed waterproof according to the German industry standard (DIN EN 20811:1992, also known as ISO 811). Textiles that can withstand pressure of 400 to 1,300 mm are merely water-repellent. The Swiss materials testing institute Empa in St Gallen stipulates that a functional fabric is actually only waterproof from a water column of 4,000 mm (e.g. when sitting on damp ground = approx. 2,000 mm WC or when kneeling, crouching down or underneath rucksack straps). The Sympatex membrane exceeds the Empa requirements and withstands pressure of over 35,000 mm WC (using the WIWeB method).

100% breathability Breathable clothing that wicks perspiration away from the skin as water vapour is needed to prevent a build-up of heat next to the wearer’s body. The Sympatex membrane works using a physiochemical principle. The water-loving (hydrophilic) component of the membrane absorbs moisture from the body and releases it outwards by evaporation. The water vapour molecules are transported outwards along the chains of molecules as in a billiard system. Smart Dynamic Membrane Technology: The more the body perspires, the more moisture the membrane can wick away. This means that its effectiveness increases dynamically as it is needed and the Sympatex membrane adapts flexibly to the relevant sport’s requirements. One benchmark used to quantify breathability is the MVTR (moisture vapour transmission rate*). The higher the figure, the better: fabrics achieving an MVTR of > 10,000 g/m²/24 h are deemed to have very good breathability. With its compact membrane technology, the Sympatex membrane boasts breathability of up to 35,000 g/m²/24 h MVTR. The Ret rating (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer) is also used to measure breathability. This represents a fabric’s resistance to water vapour. Textiles with an Ret rating of less than 6 qualify as extremely breathable. Sympatex achieves an astounding Ret rating of up to 0.5 – a top result.

100% Windproof The Sympatex membrane is absolutely windproof. This functional property is important to prevent the subjective wind-chill effect. To an athlete exposed to a gust of wind measuring around 25 km/h, an outside temperature of +5° Celsius feels like –6° Celsius. The higher the wind speed is, the lower the perceived temperatures. 0 litres of air/second penetrate 1 m2 of the Sympatex membrane. This makes the Sympatex membrane 100% windproof according to DIN EN ISO 9237, preventing the athlete’s perceived body temperature and performance from dropping.

100% recyclable Outdoor activities and environmental protection go hand in hand because people who enjoy exploring the natural world are also keen to protect it. The Sympatex membrane consists of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen and is fully recyclable and reusable, just like a PET bottle. 100% performance – 100% ecologically sound. The Sympatex membrane is: • made of perfectly safe polyether ester • bluesign®-certified*: maximum possible freedom from harmful substances and a safe, resource-friendly manufacturing process • Oeko-Tex Standard 100-certified, product class 1: safe textile products, completely free of health risks • PTFE-free • kind to the skin and the environment • 100% recyclable, just like a PET bottle PTFE-free: Unlike many other membranes, the Sympatex membrane is free from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). PTFE has been increasingly criticised in recent years as the production process for PTFE uses fluorides which are suspected of being harmful to health and even causing cancer.

1. INTRODUCTION

In order to make functional clothing in the area of FUN SPORTS, as e.g. Ski & Snowboard or Paragliding, waterproof, different aspects must be considered. In the following we show the usual methods and processing specially for your segment. If you would like to incorporate other constructions and creative ideas in your models, we will be pleased to assist you at any time with our know-how and expertise

2. MODEL DESIGN WITH OUTER SHELL LAMINATE 2.1 JACKET 2.1.1 HOOD

In case your model has a hood, this can be either stitched on or made detachable. It must be provided with laminate and for functional reasons may not only be lined with outer shell or lining material. If the hood is processed with lining material (not net lining), this must not reach to the very edge on account of its high absorbency. Therefore we advise using a facing of outer shell or other hydrophobic material as a moisture barrier to which the lining is sewn. This facing should run all the way round and include the area of the neckhole. In garments for the FUN SPORTS area the last top stitch in the inside facing

2.1.2 COLLAR

The collar must not be stitched through the neck-hole seam, as water would penetrate. The inside collar connection is made with a separately cut-out joining strip of laminate (see Fig.2). Firstly the laminate collar must be sewn into the neck-hole seam of the lining laminate body and sealed. Then the doubly-folded joining strip (membrane side outside!) is welded onto the already sealed neck-hole seam in a second welding take. Depending on the design of the model, this strip can extend the whole length of the neckhole seam or be inserted only in parts. 2.1.3 FRONT FASTENER

The front fastening must be worked with an overlap either on the outside or the inside, which is stitched on and sealed inside. The seam stitching should overlap the zip fastener stitching by at least 1.5 cm on the outside or inside. Both constructions require a ca. 6 cm wide inside outside-fabric facing.

If you want to make a padded garment, it must be processed with an outside overlap on account of the absorbency of the padding material. If your model only has a sealed overlap on the inside, we recommend using water repelling zip fastener. In this context we explicitly point out that this kind of zip fastener is not waterproof. It merely delays the time needed for the moisture to reach the inside of the jacket and subsequently onto the wearer!

2.1.4 POCKETS

In principle all pocket variations are possible, which prevent water penetrating into the jacket. The following points should be considered with this construction: • The opening must be covered ca. 1.5 cm on each side by a flap or selvedge. • The pocket pouch must be processed separately and may not be cut to the edging or selvedge. It may only be sewn onto the pocket opening, so that it does not get caught up in a seam which must be sealed (see Fig.3) (e.g. flap seam/ side seam). • We recommend processing on both sides ca. 4 cm wide outer shell facings. These must be joined to the pocket pouch and not sewn on. • The pocket pouch must not get caught up in the seam or side stitching, as moisture can be absorbed via this seam. A connecting strip of laminate can be used to attach the pocket pouch. • The seams which penetrate the laminate and must be sealed (e.g. when sewing on flaps, and selvedges etc.) must be at a distance of at least 1.5 cm to the zip fastener or edging seam, as the rollers of the sealing machine require this amount of space (see Fig. 3).

• Pockets with visible water repellent zip fasteners must be reinforced with laminate, either as a separately-stitched pocket pouch or as a cut-out piece integrated into the design. As water tends to collect in these pockets, we recommend an opening in the form of an eyelet, hole, laser cut or seam opening to allow water run-off (see Fig. 5).

• Napoleon pocket: The distance to the overlap in the front fastening must be at least 1.5 cm, in order to enable a waterproof seam seal of the overlap seam. Towards the front edge the pocket can be directly joined to the zip fastener. • Inside pocket: Pockets which are directly inserted into the lining are on the whole waterproof, since they lie behind the functional layer.

2.1.9 RAIN CHAMBER TEST

An item of clothing for the FUN SPORTS segment should withstand the rain test for one hour in its original condition.

2.2 TROUSERS 2.2.1 WAISTBAND PROCESSING

As a rule a pair of trousers is covered in the region of the waist by an accompanying jacket, so a standard waistband processing is possible.

2.2.2 TROUSER FLY A separate outer shell laminate or moisture barrier (facing) is joined to the outer edge and the lining is sewn on from the inside (see Fig.7).

If the waist is not covered or in the case of a single pair of trousers, the following constructions regarding the fly must be considered: The fly can be worked with a godet which must be sealed. The fly can also be made with an overlap on the outside which must be 1.5 cm longer than the zip fastener, and which must be stitched on and sealed. The construction requires inside outer shell facings, which must be sealed.

2.2.3 POCKETS

Pocket processing is the same as in jackets (see 2.1.4).

2.1.7 WAIST DRAWSTRING

With regard to the wearer we recommend you incorporate in general a waterproof pocket (see Fig. 5) in your model and to mark this separately!

If a waist drawstring is to be threaded through the laminate to the inside, these holes must be secured with buttonholes or eyelets to prevent the string being pulled out. The casing for the drawstring can be sewn on from the outside and welded on the inside. If you wish to fasten the casing from the inside, it may only be welded on.
