We were in an accident in September, my 4 y/o son and i went to see a chiropractor and i also seen a physical therapist a few times, (i actually still have pain from time to time in my shoulder and upper back). the total bills for us both are just under $3000. the adjuster called this morning with a slap in the face of a settlement offer to pay the bills and $250, claiming that the damage to my car was only $800 ( estimate from their mechanic, i actually paid $1200 to have the repairs done, they wont accept responsibility for the rest) and because their policy holder claimed no damages over their deductible on their already beat up car, (even though it was also damaged in this incident)that nothing else is justified. we were hit from behind while stopped at a light and the person who hit us just barely hit the brakes before hitting us so at impact was probably still going 30-35, their airbags went off but not ours. our rear and their front bumpers lined up exactly perfect that the only thing damaged was the bumper and exhaust, after all isnt that what a bumper is for? I feel the $250 over the medical bills doesnt even cover the hassle alone for going to these visits, not to mention the ongoing pain i still have. i was a stay at home mother of 4 at the time of the accident so i was not able to take anything for pain other than ibuprofen which did almost nothing. What is it i need to say or do in order to get this settled appropriately, i would like to steer clear of a lawyer unless absolutely necessary, like my Dr mentioned, why should they get 1/3 of my medical bills, and since the insurance started that low, its not likely they will go significantly higher to justify a lawyer Thank you for any input Related

Hello, I was recently a victim of a hit and run on a brand new 07 car. The back was smashed and the right back tire was sideways. The insurance company had me bring it to one of their authorized body shops. After 9k worth of damage, I received the car back. My boyfriend (and our toddler) have insurance through his employer but it's like $400/month for just the two of them and it doesn't cover much. To add me to his plan we would have to get married first and it would be over $200/month more than he's already paying now. So that's over $600/month for insurance that doesn't cover much.

It doesn't seem like a very good deal at all. So I'm looking for a health insurance plan that would take all three of us as an unmarried family, for less than $600/month. So far I don't see any that cover maternity, and we do want to have another child within the next year or two... We don't get sick often, but our baby needs her regular checkups and vaccinations, we need our regular checkups, vision and dental, and of course catastrophic coverage in the event something really bad were to happen. I don't see much purpose in me having insurance for myself, a young woman, that doesn't cover maternity or birth control, other than for the sake of catastrophic coverage. But if need be I could get my own insurance plan for maternity/birth control/whatever if I could find an affordable one, and they can be on their own plan that doesn't cover maternity.

Blue Cross Blue Shield has some cheap rates but they don't cover maternity. Neither does Aetna. Cinergy is too expensive for just me, let alone my family too. Please help! I am not a thief and have never been one although my current insurance company think I am. My car was stolen from my house in March this year and NRMA have denied the claim stating that i was untruthful in my claim.
