Leadership Pathways The Youth Sport Trust has worked with 36 National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sport to make clear to the School Sport Network the training pathway available for young people. As an organisation the Youth Sport Trust believes passionately in the development of young people as leaders, both for their personal development as well as the positive impact they have on the young people they are leading.

RUNWAY RUNWAY is a fun, weekly, school-based group running programme for young people, led by young people. RUNWAY was developed by England Athletics, in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, following research with Key Stage 4 female students exploring their attitudes, motivations and behaviours in relation to running. In response to this insight, the programme was created to provide a non-competitive, social, inclusive running experience within the school environment, outside of lesson time. RUNWAY sessions are suitable for all abilities and all run leaders are fully trained by England Athletics. RUNWAY is being tested during the summer 2016 school term and a comprehensive review will take place in August 2016 to assess its effectiveness of increasing running behaviour with this demographic group and its potential to be rolled out more widely.
