I

n early 2012, Young America’s Foundation held two regional conferences to arm students with the facts and arguments necessary to make the case for freedom. These special programs offered students an alternative to the big government policies of the Obama administration—policies that, despite being celebrated on most campuses, are robbing students of their futures. Freedom Conference: Raleigh and Freedom Conference: Milwaukee (and two forthcoming Freedom Conferences to be held this fall) were made possible by the generosity of the late Russell “Dale” Phelon and his wife, Debra (see related story on page 41). More than 180 students from 40 schools, 20 states, and the District of Columbia gathered at the Doubletree (continued on page 17) 14
