The 2009 'Playing the Field' Conference brought together an interdisciplinary group of researchers all exploring various aspect of 'the field', a methodlogical and theoretical trope in the social sciences. This publication features selected articles addressing and problematizing 'the field' from perspectives that represent the wide range of approaches and disciplinary dispostions.
