Membership Regulation

Membership Regulations 1. General Points  

The work of the “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO is based on the principle of membership. The decision-making body of the organization is the General Assembly, comprised of the members of the NGO. Membership is open to any person 14 years or above who has actively participated in the organization’s activities for at least 6 months prior to submitting an application for membership. Individuals between the ages of 14 and 18 are eligible to apply for membership with an application supported by his/her legal guardian. Armenian and non-Armenian citizens are eligible for membership; however, at least 51% of the members of the organization must be citizens of Armenia. 2. Membership Regulations

The basis for becoming a member of the organization is submission of the membership application, which must include two 3x4 size photographs and the applicant’s curriculum vitae. Approval for membership is decided by the Board of the Organization with assistance from the Human Resources Manager, based on the submitted application. The decision to approve or deny membership is not to exceed three months from the application submission date. Following approval of the application by the Board, the applicant assumes the full rights and responsibilities corresponding to membership. Each individual approved for membership should receive a membership card with a photo and a unique number. In the case of a membership application being denied, the applicant retains the right to submit a new application form. The organization maintains a membership database for internal use only, and for which the Human Resources Manager may request additional information from members.

3. The Rights and Responsibilities of Members of the Organization 3.1. Each member of the organization retains the right to:   

 

participate in the General Assembly of the Organization; vote in elections to fill management positions within the Oorganization; seek election in management and controlling bodies of the organization once the member has reached 21 years of age; present applications, proposals, and complaints to the management of the Organization, with the aim of improving the Organization’s activities; make use of the services and resources provided by the Organization, free of charge; participate in the activities and events carried out by the Organization;

receive information about the work of the Organization; appeal to the General Assembly or the courts against any illegal conduct by the Organization’s management; cancel membership to the organization at-will. 3.2. Each member of the organization must:

    

respect the mission, Charter, and regulations of the Organization; support the activities of the Organization within the scope of his/her capacity and abilities; promote the progress and reputation of the Organization through his/her activities; pay the monthly membership fee of 500 AMD by the 15th of each month; attend the monthly membership meetings, except in cases when the member has given notice of his/her absence beforehand; comply with the requirements of the Charter and with managerial decisions; diligently fulfill the responsibilities set forth for him/her.

4. Regulations on Cancellation of Membership to the Organization  

A member of the Organization may terminate membership by presenting a letter of cancellation. The cancellation letter should be addressed to the President of the Organization and should be processed by the organization within 10 working days. Membership may be revoked in cases of a member receiving two written warnings from the President for breaking regulations of the organization. In case of failure to pay membership fees, the member will receive one written notice and be given 10 working days to submit payment before his/her membership may be revoked. The decision to revoke membership is to be made by the Board of the Organization. The reinstatement of membership is to be carried out on a general basis.
