Soft Revolution is a social-profit organization, founded in 2006 The collective is managed by volunteers only, some projects are subsidized. Through a variety of initiatives, events and experiments in- & outside Brussels we seek to promote community building, play ethics and civil participation. Todayʼs core members are Yannick Schandene, Bavo Blanckaert en Lennert Mottar.

EARLY PROJECTS (2006-2012)

• 7 x WE(I)ROCK Free D.I.Y Festival: a free non-profit festival with music, hybrid workshops and performances which has found place 7 times in Wemmel (near Brussels)

• Contributions to the local music- & artscene: concerts, rockrallyʼs, production of videoclips, festivals, podcasts, the publication of 12 issues of a D.I.Y Magazine

• Retrogaming events & Interactive multi-media installations (based on live greenkey): ʻFreak-itʼ & ʻVideodroomʼ

• Garden Cinema: projecting movies in several gardens PROJECT OF THE SOFT REVOLUTION (2011-2013) SUBSIDIZED BY PROVINCE OF FLEMISH-BRABANT

• LETS Project: Local Exchange Trading System in Wemmel (near Brussels) • Palace of Dreams & Complains: Installation with audiovisual integration of all kind of dreams and complains of local citizens in Wemmel

• Start development of the prototype of the board game ʻChoose your Happiness, the anticompetitive board gameʼ (with a fund of Koning Boudewijnstichting).

• ʻThe Day of the Soft Revolutionʼ: a big interactive expo for an exchange of ideas on ʻsoft revolutionsʼ in the Cultural Centre of Wemmel. This event had several workshops and interventions, an interactive debate, concerts, performances and installations.

• Publication of the interactive booklet ʻSoft Revolutionʼ for social-cultural organisations. CURRENT PROJECTS (2013-2014)

• Start finalisation of the board game ʻChoose Your Happinessʼ with the funds of Youth In Action.

• Co-founders of the movement Pic Nic the Streets and the growfunding project ʻCanal Parkʼ in Brussels city.
