Each year, SCCC invites school children to attend special performances by world-class musicians. The entry fee is minimal ($3 per student). This is possible because of the generous support of O’Reilly Media, Sebastopol Kiwanis Club, Nina Gerber, Cloud Moss of Cumulus Presents, and Kevin Russell of Kebtone Productions. We encourage all those who have school age children to ask their children’s teachers about the upcoming Jugalbandi show – Las Cafeteras – on Friday September 9. We are dedicated to ensuring that all children attend, regardless of ability to pay. Please contact Diana Rich at diana@ seb.org if you are interested or have any questions. Thank you to all who make this very special enrichment opportunity possible!

Bird Watching - Sonoma County Regional Parks Lisa Hug

Ages: Teen to Senior

Annex/Side Rm

This is an exciting exploration of the tremendous diversity of birds in Sonoma County. This first session will be held in the Sebastopol Community Center for an indoor orientation about the parks we will visit and the birds that we are likely to see. We will then look for birds in the Laguna de Santa Rosa area. All other meetings will meet at various park locations. Please bring many layers of clothing, comfortable hiking shoes, a packed lunch, water, snacks, binoculars (scopes optional and unnecessary for most destinations), and a field guide (book or phone app.) We end each session with a group packed picnic lunch and review by making a bird list together of all species seen that day. All Sonoma County regional parks have an entrance fee of $7.00, buying an annual Parks Pass is recommended. For more info: www.lisahugsnorthbaybirds.com $105 for lecture and field trips. Thank You City of Sebastopol!

SCCC is an independent nonprofit. We are largely (with your help!) self-sustaining. Every little bit is essential to our making our budget each year. One part of that equation is City support. We thank the City of Sebastopol for helping to fund our programs, and for helping with our facility improvement projects.

Rotary, Kiwanis & Realtors

We thank Sunrise Rotary for the Club’s generous support of the Community Center, as well as so many other worthy interests in Sebastopol. On the heels of the July 3 Fireworks event, we take this opportunity to recognize Kiwanis for their hard work in making that event happen each year, as well as their generous support of SCCC. We also express our appreciation for support from the Rotary Club of Sebastopol. And finally, we thank the Sebastopol Realtors for their generous support of SCCC. These organizations all do incredible work to enrich our community.

Support the Community Center by Advertising Your Business Purchasing ad space in the Activities Guide is a great way to help support SCCC while promoting your own business. The advertising space sold for the Activities Guide funds this triannual guide. Your ad not only reaches the thousands of people who walk through our doors, but also supports our efforts to keep the community informed about the numerous educational and enrichment opportunities available. For more information, contact Rebecca at rebecca@seb.org, or 707-823-1511.
