PROGRESS AND MILESTONES EU Holidays was founded by a group of experienced directors passionate about their work in the travel industry. They wanted to do something new that could better serve the travel needs of consumers, which is the main driving force behind the establishment of our travel agency. Within five years of business operations, we have expanded EU Holidays and opened up three other subsidiary offices to focus on the various needs of our customers. The EU MICE office was set up in 2013 to cater for corporate travel with a focus on corporate meetings, conventions and events. In that same year, EU Asia was launched to cater for customers who are interested in travelling within Asia. In the following year, we opened up EU

Vacations to serve the Malaysian market. In doing so, EU Holidays strives to constantly improve our products and services so that we can better serve our customers. Despite being a young company, EU Holidays has gained significant recognition from both customers and industry professionals. Founded in late 2010, EU Holidays was voted Top MasterCard Supporter in NATAS Travel for four consecutive years since 2012. Since then, EU Holidays was named the ‘Best Travel Agency for Europe and USA Tours’ as voted by readers of ESCAPE! Magazine. After just two years in the business, EU Holidays was presented with two valuable awards – the Asia Excellence Award 2013 and the Singapore Excellence Award 2013. In 2014, we received the Singapore Quality Brands 2014 award and the Weekender Travellers’ Choice Award as No. 1 for Europe and USA tours, as voted by readers. ledging is a worldwide winter activity generally carried out in a prone or seated position on aÂ vehicle generically known as a sledge. Made out of wood, it is carefully crafted, and often comes with a carriage mounted upon runners. It is generally designed to go fast and straight down the hill, hence caution should be practiced when navigating sharp turns and bends. In the early days, sledging was utilised as a mode of transportation to carry passengers or goods, typically it was used in places where no other vehicles or mode of transportation could venture. In most cases, husky dogs will pull the sledges, and bring their riders to their destination. Today, it is a widely known recreational sport, and brings marvellous fun for everyone including children. Most sledges are handsomely

designed, some even come with canvas seat covers for comfort. The first ride down a hill on a sledge is the most crucial and most difficult as it determines the path of the sledge for subsequent runs. It is essential to practice safety precautions before you decide to sledge. Always ensure that you wear sensible winter clothing such as hats, gloves and mittens; and protective gears to avoid getting injured. Keep a fair distance among other riders and avoid using your hands to stop the sledge. Be sure to choose a gentle course suitable to your capability or seek advice from an expert. The thrill of sledding is undeniably satisfying. The adrenaline rush you get once you complete your course will definitely get you addicted to the winter activity.

ake a breather from the frigid wind and frost for the cosy indoors of quaint restaurants for a serving of world renowned Swiss fondue. Traditionally prepared with high quality shredded cheeses – often, Emmentaler, Gruyère, Comté or a combination of them – over open flames on a chafing stand and served with freshly cut bread or meat cubes carefully speared on long-stemmed fondue forks, the mouthwatering fondue is meant to be enjoyed with a selection of warmed wines and tea. Some recipes demand the inclusion of kirsch – a fruit brandy made from morello cherries, or the host’s specialty mixes of chocolate and other delectable ingredients. Aside from cheese-oriented pots, variations of the fondue are available in our itineraries. Relish in a dip of fruits in coated with smooth succulent chocolate fondue, or crisp meat pieces, seasoned meatballs and potato cubes in bubbling Bourguignonne fondue pots of specially prepared spiced oil or broth. he largest city and capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, is almost like a world of its own. An exceptionally compact city that houses about 820,000 residents, the narrow streets bordered by an infinite array of gabled houses running along the canals form a relaxing and intimate atmosphere that is reminiscent of its 17th century history. This is a city that is best explored on foot, as most of the sites of interests are located within walking distance, or you may prefer to ride a bike (as the locals do) to places further out. One of Amsterdam’s greatest marvel is their complex canal networks that run through the whole city, which means that a canal cruise is a much better way to enjoy the hidden charms that Amsterdam has to offer, rather than a bus tour. One of the main highlights of Amsterdam would be its world-class art museums, among them the Rijksmuseum with the famed Rembrandts, the Van Gogh Museum, the Hermitage Amsterdam and the Stedelijk Museum of modern art. The Anne Frank House is also a must-visit – bringing you back in time to the cramped two-room annex where the Frank family hid from the Nazis for two years during World War II. For the more adventurous soul, you may venture to the notorious Red Light District (locally known as De Wallen) – one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam – reputed for the legal sex and drugs. Old Chapel Bridge The Old Chapel Bridge plays a crucial role in the city of Lucerne. Connecting the Old Town and a New Town, this structure has been serving its purpose since 1332 although it was rebuilt after being damaged by a fire. Unlike other bridges, the Old Chapel Bridge exhibits old paintings under its roofs. Interestingly enough, a few burnt panels are still displayed to serve as a reminder of the tragic fire that took place in 1993. During the carnival season, the original pictures will be replaced with the modern ones to reflect the carnival atmosphere. The area also has a Water Tower near the bridge, the former dungeon/archive/treasury vault is now an

exclusive club room utilised by traditional associations.

Lion Monument The Lion Monument is one of the most popular attractions in Lucerne. It was erected in the 1880s to honour the valour of mercenary soldiers from Central Switzerland. The monument - of a giant dying lion commemorates Swiss soldiers who sacrificed their lives while serving the French king Louis XVI during the French Revolution. A Latin inscription is also carved into the sandstone wall, like an incantation, it reads: HELVETIORUM FIDEI AC VIRTUTI, which means “To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss”. Records of the dead, such as their names and death toll, can be found on the memorial. Although the site was once private property, the city of Lucerne bought it, and today the site is accessible without an entrance fee.

Lucerne Lake Besides its intriguing man-made attractions, Lucerne is also known for being home to the fourth largest lake in Switzerland, Lake Lucerne. Called the heart of Switzerland, this lake is cradled by a four cantons: Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden. Flanking either sides of the lake, the mountains are covered in thick forests that support a diverse species of wildlife. Louvre Museum The Louvre Museum is an ideal place for

Today you will board the Glacier Express to Chur, an Alpine city in Switzerland. The Glacier Express is an express train connecting railway stations from the east to the west of Switzerland. It is also referred to as the ‘slowest express train in the world’ and there is a good reason for this slow pace: the train squeezes its way through the Alps, through narrow valleys, tight curves, 91 tunnels, and across 291 bridges. A Venetian Love Affair Venice is a unique city that leaves travellers from far and wide spellbound with its historical structures and elegant gondolas floating down long, narrow canals.

Instead of cars or roads, narrow canals act as connecting pathways and small boats/water buses are utilised as a means of transport. Opulently fashioned buildings and historic monuments seem to rise from the depths of Venice, charming travellers from all over with its unique layout.

St. Mark’s Square Also known as Piazza San Marco, the square is noted for housing most of Venice’s rich history and architectural wonders. Since most of the city’s sights are concentrated here, it has become a major tourist attraction. Established in the ninth century, it is the largest square in the city and hence is known as piazza - while the other city squares in Venice are referred to as “campi”.

“Church of Gold”, as it was known for its gold mosaics that cover the walls and domes of the church. The variety of artworks displayed inside the church showcase prominent times in history, one such significant event that is recorded on one of the many exquisite mosaics, is the procession of the St. Mark’s relics being moved to the Basilica. Besides being embellished with fascinating mosaics, the site also houses bronze sculptures dating back to the Greco-Roman time and the Tesoro (Treasury), which comprises of an impressive collection of the Crusaders’ plunder from Constantinople.

St. Mark’s Basilica Most European cities seem to have one or more structures that reflect the decadent era whereby living in excess was both celebrated and revered in the past. One such building that encapsulates the extravagance and indulgence of the early days is the St. Mark’s Basilica. It was modelled after another prominent architectural structure such as the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, and commands the same veneration as Istanbul’s iconic attraction. Built in Venetian-Byzantine fashion and fusing Western and Eastern architecture, the St. Mark’s Basilica was nicknamed the

Doge’s Palace represents Gothic architecture at its finest, while serving as a distinguished landmark in Venice. Steeped in history, the Doge’s Palace has served many purposes in the past, from being the seat of the Venetian government to being the residence of the Doge (chief magistrate of Venice or Genoa). Today, the Doge’s Palace is a museum and exhibits paintings that were exclusively created to embellish the Doge’s Palace. The main entrance of the palace, the Porta della Carta, links the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. Filled with intricate ornamental carvings, the figures above the entrance - Doge Francesco Foscari kneeling before the Lion of St. Mark - symbolises the power of the state. Another notable feature of the Doge’s Palace is the Scala dei Giganti Staircase of the Giants - which leads up to the State Apartments on the upper floor - it is flanked on either sides by two large statues of Mars and Neptune. This place played a crucial role in history, as this was the very location where the coronation of newly elected rulers of Venice took place.

Bridge of Sighs

The famed Bridge of Sighs is another attraction that is a must-see for anyone visiting Venice. The main purpose of the bridge was to connect the old prison and the interrogation rooms in the basement of the Doge’s Palace to the new one located directly across the river. There are various theories as to how the bridge got its name, one theory states that prisoners would sigh as they crossed the bridge, probably because it was the last time they got to see the outside world before they were imprisoned. The beautiful arch stretching high above the canal and the delicate carvings that decorate the bridge coupled with a romantic view provides an unforgettable Venetian experience.

myriad of colours greet you at your first sight of Cinque Terre, a glorious cluster of villages precariously perched atop rocky cliffs overlooking the Liguran Sea. Made up of namely five villages – Manarola, Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, and together with the surrounding hillside and coastline, they are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Cinque Terre was carefully built upon terraces on the steep rugged cliffs over centuries, and due to its isolated location, the people’s main source of income came from fishing. If you ever wondered about the colourful buildings… well the reason behind that was so that the fishermen working at sea could identify their houses easily and check on their family. Before the advent of tourism in the 19th century which breathed life back into the area, Cinque Terre was actually declining into poverty due to increasing emigration of its people. This utopian town is undoubtedly the best place to escape from the hurried, fast-paced city life for a few days of quiet and relaxation. Cinque Terre remains a favourite destination for both locals and tourists alike, offering a soothing, laid back atmosphere that remains relatively unmarred by modernization and development. Even with the tourist hike to the area, the locals have chosen to limit vehicular access into Cinque Terre, but the five villages remain well-connected via footpaths, trains and boats. So take a gander along the traffic-free streets, stop by to make conversation with the charming locals or head near the sea for a breath of fresh, salty air – and embrace the lazy way of life.

MILAN → VENICE ISLAND STAY The first stop of the day is the Sforza Castle, a majestic fortress where noble lords of Milan used to reside. Drop by the grandiose Milan Cathedral for shots of the elaborate Gothic exterior façade. Next, take a leisure stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for some brief shopping, which will then lead you to Piazza della Scala – where a statue monument of Leonardo da Vinci is located. Stop by the lavish La Scala Opera House for some pictures before we break off for some leisure time. Thereafter, transfer to Venice and board a private water taxi to make your way to the heart of Venice. Then, set off on a guided tour around St. Mark’s Square and to the famous cathedral church St. Mark’s Basilica – nicknamed the ‘church of gold’ due to its opulent design and gold ground mosaics. Swing by the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, two of Venice’s main landmarks, for some breath-taking pictures to bring back as mementos. Lastly, visit a glass blowing factory to learn more about the art of Murano glassmaking, an elite trade unique to Venice. EU Holidays Pte Ltd shall be referred to as “the Company” in the following: 1. RESERVATION, DEPOSIT & FULL PAYMENT 1.1 If your minimum deposit is less than the required amount, kindly top up the difference within the next two (2) days. 1.2 Payment of deposit does not constitute confirmation of the tour. All group tours are subject to a minimum group size (as determined by the Company) in order for the confirmation to be effected and for the departure to be finalised. 1.3 Full payment is required no later than twenty one (21) days prior to departure. In case of tours in peak season, full payment must be made one month before departure. If full payment is not received by the stipulated deadline, the Company reserves the right to forfeit the deposit and cancel the reservation. In such an event, the cancellation fee as stated in Section 2 is payable by the Customer. 1.4 By making deposit and balance payment, it is deemed that you have read, understood and accepted the Tour Booking Terms and Conditions in the booking form. 1.5 The Company reserves the right to request for a top-up on initial deposit for immediate issuance of air tickets, to avoid incurring additional surcharges. 2. CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER 2.1 Cancellation of booking must be made in writing or in person to avoid any misunderstanding. 2.2 The following cancellation fees applied once any group tour package booking is made: No. of days between departure and receipt of cancellation notice 35 working days or more 15-34 working days 08-14 working days 04-07 working days 03 working days and less

2.3 The above cancellation fees apply if the air-tickets are not issued. If the air-tickets are issued, the value of the air-tickets will be added onto the cancellation fees. If the deposit amount is insufficient to cover the cancellation fee, the Customers must pay for the difference. 2.4 Working days refers to Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Peak season refers to school holidays and public holidays. 3. CANCELLATION BY THE COMPANY 3.1 The Company acts as an agent for service suppliers. After deposit or full payment has been made, all arrangements are still subject

to final confirmation by service suppliers. At times due to low subscription for a group tour, the Company may choose to cancel the entire tour fourteen (14) days prior to departure. 3.2 The Company shall also not be held liable for any contingent costs incurred by the Customer arising from the cancellation. 4. REFUND POLICY 4.1 No refund will be made with respect to accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours or any other services included in the tour fare but not utilised by the Customer, either in part or full, or when the Customer amends, cancels or otherwise changes any arrangements after commencement of the tour. 4.2 All refund will be made within fourteen (14) working days in a form of cheque. For credit card payment, refund will be made through the credit card company. 4.3 Air tickets with refund value will only be refunded to Customers four (4) to six (6) weeks after the respective airlines have refunded to the Company. The standard processing period for air tickets refund varies from three (3) to six (6) months (subject to individual airlines). 4.4 During peak period, the refund process may be longer due to increase in transactions. 5. AMENDMENT TO BOOKINGS (REQUESTED BY PASSENGERS) 5.1 For any changes in departure date or tour type, cancellation charges apply as listed under Section 2 on Cancellation by the Customer. 5.2 For every request made regardless of whether any previous amendment was confirmed by airlines, hotel or otherwise, there will be a minimum fee of $150 per person per amendment. This does not include any other fees imposed by the airlines, ground operator or hotel. 5.3 A postponement of tour by Customers for any reason is a cancellation. Under such circumstances, the above Cancellation Policies will apply accordingly. 6. AMENDMENT TO TOUR ITINERARY BY COMPANY 6.1 The Company makes reasonable effort to avoid changes in the itinerary. However, the Company reserves the right to make minor changes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, especially during peak periods or in the event of other circumstances beyond our control. 7. EXTENSION OF STAY / DEVIATION 7.1 Extension of stay may be permitted at the end of tour, subject to the restriction of the air ticket, seat availability and hotel confirmation prior to the commencement of the tour. All requests must be made before issuance of air tickets. If the extension of stay / deviation is unable to be confirmed three (3) weeks prior to the group’s departure date, the passenger is deemed to stick to the original tour schedule. In the event that the original schedule has been changed by the Company, any extra cost will be borne by the Customer. 7.2 Cancellation fee is also applicable if the Customer cancels the booking due to extension / deviation is unable to confirm prior to departure. 8. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, TRAVEL INSURANCE & TRAVEL VOUCHERS 8.1 Passport and other Travel Documents It is Customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that he / she has a valid passport with minimum six (6) months validity from the date of scheduled return to Singapore, as well as the necessary visas, vaccinations, health certificates and

all necessary travel documents as required by various government authorities of the destinations of travel. 8.2 Visa – please refer to our full version Tour Booking Terms & Conditions at www.euholidays. com.sg/tnc*. The Customer may seek advice from the Company on visa application; however it is Customer’s own responsibility to obtain a valid visa. 8.3 Travel Insurance 8.3.1 Arrangement of travel insurance coverage is strongly recommended with respect to unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellation, loss of deposit, baggage, personal accident, injury, illness, etc. Under no circumstances shall the Company be construed as a carrier under a contract for safe carriage of the Customer or his / her baggage and other personal belongings. 8.3.2 The Company shall not be responsible for any loss or damage in relation to trip cancellation, loss of personal baggage, accidents, injuries and illness. 8.3.3 Should there be any amendment to the date and duration of travel, it is Customer’s responsibility to inform the travel insurance company to amend the date and duration of the insurance coverage. 8.4 Travel Vouchers – please refer to our full version Tour Booking Terms & Conditions at www. euholidays.com.sg/tnc* 9.
