The NCAA allows programs to travel overseas as part of an international tour every four years. In 2007, the Mountaineers went to Australia and participated in a fivegame exhibition tour. Most recently, WVU played an exhibition tour in Europe in 2011. The 2011 tour covered Paris, South of France, Monte Carlo, Lake Como, Florence, Rome, Ancient Rome and Holy Rome. The Mountaineers played a total of three games with the European tour with the first game against a French professional team and the final two against the Dutch National team. In addition to the games, the international travel offers an opportunity to learn about the culture and history of the area in an organized fashion.
