The second day of team roping action at the West Texas Championships began with the #12 Gold Plus Division. Toby Joe (Turbo) Truby from Shallowater, Texas and Rex Prather from Post, Texas teamed up to win the Average. They were 34.01 seconds on four steers. The team won $4,072, trophy Gist buckles and $6,000 in USTRC Flex Earnings. Second place was Danny Madrigal from Laredo, Texas and Danny Mendoza from Zapata, Texas and third place went to Ben Pierce and Josh Cordova. Stanley Neff from Colorado City, Texas and Todd Burnett from Charlotte, Texas won the Incentive Average. Josh Cordova struck again in the #11 Division, this time heeling for Phillip Harrison from Cisco, Texas. The pair roped four steers in 34.88 seconds and won first place in the Average. They received $7,228, trophy Martin saddles, and $6,000 in USTRC Flex Earnings. Second place in the Average was Charlie Newsome from Waring, Texas and Ray Bitzkie from Spring Branch, Texas. Newsome and Bitzkie also won the Incentive Average. The third place team was Duke Barker and Jake Knight. In the #10 Division, the winners of the Average were Jordan Hernandez from Carrizo Springs, Texas and Todd Burnett from Charlotte, Texas. Joe Stocker from Cross Plains, Texas and David Burden from Clifton, Texas finished first place in the #9 Division. They won the roping with a time of 44.48 seconds on four steers. The win paid them $9,040, trophy Martin saddles, and $6,000 in USTRC Flex Earnings. The team also won the Incentive Average. Second place in the roping was Beck Hyslop from Loxahatchee, Florida and Michael Raney from Lamesa, Texas. Third place was Jimmy Davis from Abilene, Texas and Randy Davis from New Braunfels, Texas.
