times at the roping. Mmmm, I wonder what the secretaries make doing all that paper work with the aid of computers and Ipads? I drive until the wee hours of the night and make sure we have beds and stalls when we get there. Do truckers get paid by the mile or paid by the hour? I bath kids, horses and dogs. I open gates, shut gates, load chutes and unload chutes. I’m also a gofer and I’m the one that gets yelled at when things go awry. Wonder what people get paid to sit and listen to the ranting and ravings of a disillusioned CEO? I listen to disillusioned and discouraged ropers all the time. No one has issued me a paycheck for doing that around here lately. I’m just thinking if you add all this up even at minimum wage it is a pretty good chunk of change and there is bound to be chores I do that I don’t even think about. I know for a fact I have fantastic job security. I’m just pretty sure I’m never going to be rich from having that particular kind of job security. It seems my little crew kind of figures that I’ll always be around or at least nearby. I’ve discovered I’m pretty much a jack of all trades and I’ve actually mastered a few. Maybe it isn’t all about money after all. Mmm, I think my list is growing. Oh well, at least I have a roof over my head and food on the table. I think that food is in the trailer! Ahhhhh!
