Welcome to Our School

When you enter our loving school, consider yourself one of the special members of an extraordinary family. Choosing a school is an important decision. At Bozeat Primary School we are committed to providing the highest quality education from age 3 through to age 11, giving our children the very best start in their educational life and preparing them for their next stage of learning. We provide a calm, safe environment where children are encouraged to reach their full potential, recognise their value and where each child contributes to make our school such a wonderful place to be. Our values are underpinned by three words:

BELIEVE: ACHIEVE: SUCCEED.

We are a wholly inclusive school and one that sits in the heart of the community we serve. We have aspirations for our children to fulfil their academic potential and develop into successful lifelong learners. We want our children to possess high levels of social and emotional intelligence so they are well placed to succeed in the future and take their place as well rounded productive members of society. We have a well qualified and dedicated team of staff and Governors, friendly and positive parents and a wider community who are incredibly supportive of the school. We will always seek positive partnerships with all who can help us develop. As you read through this prospectus I am confident that you will see that we are a school with a difference. Our School We are very proud of our school and all it has to offer. We are a small village primary school where community and a sense of family matters. Located in the countryside with views of open fields our outdoor learning environment plays as important a role in our children’s development as the indoor learning environment. As a school we remain committed to continually investing and developing our school environment so that our children and staff have the highest quality teaching and learning environment. We are passionate about learning and our dedicated teachers and support staff continually challenge our children so they achieve their full potential and gain the confidence and self-belief needed for the move up to secondary school. We want our children to grow into outstanding learners with the skills and confidence to take on all the challenges that the 21st century may bring. The school is part of the Nene Valley Partnership Trust and the word ‘partnership’ is key to how we work. As a family of schools we work together in partnership benefitting from shared leadership, expertise, resources and efficiencies to deliver excellent education within a nurturing environment. We also work in partnership with our parents and will look to create a positive relationship between you and the school to support your child’s development. We have high expectations on children’s behaviour which covers more than just learning. As part of our rewards scheme, recognition is given to children who demonstrate key skills such as perseverance, enthusiastic participation in class and wider school life, good manners and interactions with others.

Pre-School We are exceptionally proud of our Early Years setting and our approach to Teaching and Learning. We encourage and enable all of our children to be independent, well-rounded, curious individuals. We welcome children into our Pre-School from the term after their 3rd birthday. Our priority is the children’s social and emotional wellbeing and developing confidence, as without this, we can’t start to enable a life-long love of learning. Our highly qualified and experienced staff hold the same shared belief that all children have their preferred way of learning. Therefore, we do not believe that every child should fit the curriculum; the curriculum should fit every child. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our themed curriculum captures every child’s imagination and brings it to life the way they see it. Engaging with their personal interests effortlessly inspires and motivates every child to achieve their true potential.

Our Curriculum At Bozeat Primary School we provide a broad and balanced curriculum with a fun and creative edge. We aim to provide both knowledge and skill based activities and experiences that will prepare children for the outside world. Teachers deliver inspirational lessons using progressive and challenging objectives that build upon prior knowledge. Within this teachers respond to the interests and ideas of children so that understanding is developed creating an excitement and buzz in the classroom. We adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of individual learners and place an equal importance on the non-academic skills which we believe help to prepare our pupils for life outside the Bozeat family. Our curriculum gives children the opportunity to: • develop a rich and deep subject knowledge • develop and demonstrate their creativity • experience the challenge and enjoyment of learning. Our curriculum enables children to: • make choices about the things that are important to them • take part in age-appropriate discussions and activities • make a positive contribution to the school and the local community. We make use of specialist teachers in languages, maths, music and PE to ensure out children receive the very best opportunities.

Well Being We are a fully inclusive school and we welcome every single child, whatever their background or additional needs. We are proud to offer strong support for children who require it – academically, medically, socially or emotionally. We believe that every child matters in our school and strive to ensure they fulfil their potential. Within school we have a qualified ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) whose role in school is to support the children’s well-being and emotions in a safe, calm and quiet space.

We cover a range of programs depending on the children’s individual needs. This begins with the children being able to recognise their emotions and those of others. We then look at ways to best deal with them both appropriately and independently. Some of the topics are self-esteem, managing strong feelings, social skills, respect, anxiety and friendships.
