To createe market deman nd for efficientt homes, awareeness of and infformation on energy efficieency has to be in ncreased. The CEC C has recently y adopted HER RS for existing 33 homes (HER RS II). It will deliver whole--house home eenergy ratings that provide homeowners and homebuy yers with inform mation about tthe energy efficciency of the homes they llive in or homees they are conssidering for purrchase. The ratiings will also provide evalluation of the cost-effectiveneess of options to achieve grreater energy efficiency in those homes. Funding from m ARRA as w well as from th he 2009–2011 programs of tthe IOUs will su upport the implementation of H HERS II.
