• Being non-discriminatory and welcoming the involvement of all members of the community sector

• Understanding the many pressures and responsibilities faced by the secretariat

• Giving adequate advance notice of meetings and processes

• Providing appropriate and timely information (e.g., about the process for selecting the community sector’s representatives)

• Providing administrative support (e.g., taking and distributing minutes of meetings) • Making general information about the coordination body or process freely and easily accessible • Providing information about opportunities for the community sector to give input • Providing a contact point for the community sector (e.g., partnership officer)

• Providing community resource people (e.g., experts to participate in working groups) • Communicating information to the broader community sector via focal points, such as networks

5.5. Specific activities for development partners to strengthen the partnership with government Development partners can contribute to building partnerships around the M&E system by supporting the institutions (financially and technically) that lead the M&E TWGs and link their own planning and budgeting processes with those of government. Development partners should be aware of the latest information about partnership developments, and communicate in a coordinated and coherent way with government to ensure they are familiar with the latest government policies.
