Letter From The Editors

Diary of a Wimpy Kid was chosen as this year’s theme for several reasons, the series brilliantly captures the everyday struggles, triumphs, and embarrassments of being a kid. From navigating friendships and family dynamics to dealing with schoolyard bullies and embarrassing moments, the experiences chronicled in Greg’s diary are strikingly similar to those encountered by students in our own school.

While Diary of a Wimpy Kid is set in a specific time and place, its themes are timeless. The challenges of fitting in, finding one’s identity, and overcoming obstacles are constants in the journey of growing up, making the series as relevant today as it was when it was first published.

For many of us, Diary of a Wimpy Kid holds a special place in our hearts as a book series that we grew up with. By choosing it as our yearbook theme, we aim to evoke feelings of nostalgia and camaraderie among students and faculty alike, celebrating the shared experience of reading and enjoying these iconic books.

In light of the challenges we’ve faced this year, both as individuals and as a community, it serves as a reminder that even in tough times, there is humor, resilience, and the potential for growth. Despite the hardships, we’ve persevered, and this yearbook will stand as a testament to our strength and unity.

My Senior will, something I never thought to be written but here we are. I still remember my first day in Woodstock. It was raining heavily and I couldn’t tell where the hostel was so I just followed people who looked my age and eventually made my way to my room, 2 years later, I somehow found myself graduating and there’s nothing I would change about how these last two years with the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Pala, Thanks for being a mentor for life and being there for me, I would have never been the person I am today without your guidance. Ama, What can I say except thank you, thank you for the love. Saparya: I can 't believe we used to go to the same school and we didn't talk that whole time The way we got along almost immediately was really fun and I' m so glad we got close over the first semester I think something that contributed was our overly frequent bathroom bump-ins but I' m really happy that I got to be friends with you this year and it' s always fun to talk about RBS and reminisce with you

Chetana: I' m so glad we get along so well but being from RBS and Nepal probably helps You are so funny and spending time with and gossiping in nepali is honestly the best I remember us fighting everyone for maggi but we only ended up getting two cups ;-; it' s fine though it still tasted good I feel like we're in more similar situations than you realize and I really hope that you enjoy your remaining highschool days and cherish all the time you have left with all your friends

Mom and Dad- Thank you so much for your constant support, patience and understanding. I’ve enjoyed nothing more than walking in your footsteps these past 3 years. Edith and Edwina- I wouldn’t have made it here without the constant advice- even when it was tough love. You two are my role models. Zohaa- I don’t know if I’ve ever told you this, but you were actually the first person I saw when I arrived at Woodstock 3 years ago- standing outside of Midlands getting the wifi set up on your computer. Little did I know I didn’t need to look any farther to find my co- conspirator, my assistant chef, my arguing partner (and sometime opponent), and most importantly- my best friend. You are so singularly yourself, and I’m so grateful we got over our 10th grade enemy period and realized we were destined. Rachel- Rachel, my chef, my ray of sunshine. The second we became friends I wondered what took me so long. I’ve never met anyone so kind, and I doubt I ever will. Some of my favorite times at Woodstock were spent with you, eating borderline- dangerous amounts of ramen and watching another movie that no one’s heard of (when are we finishing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?). I know you’re going to be a fantastic doctor- and if I ever need brain surgery I’m coming right to you (pro- bono I assume). Atirah- My first roomie, I’m so glad we went through these 3 years together (even if there were some gaps in the middle) and I’ll forever miss our ramen and true crime nights. Talking with you about nothing and everything is my favorite thing to do and I don’t know what I’m going to do when we’re on separate continents. Gia- One of my only regrets from my time at Woodstock is that we didn’t become friends sooner. Nothing could ever be boring with you, and I’m counting down the days until I see you again. Tanisha- I’ll miss our debates- even though I didn’t agree with you 99% of the time, I respected your skills. You are the most chaotic and irrational person I’ve ever met- and yet also one of the wisest. I wish you the best in England ( even though you should be in the US) Aadil- The first time I talked to you I thought you were unlike anyone I’d ever met, and then I got to know you and my opinion remained the same. Getting to know you was one of the best parts of my senior year. Vanya- There’s no one else I’d want in literally all of my classes. We truly went through it together. Piya- Calculus genius- you’re the cutest. Manav- I will never forget that one mark that I got above you in GP. Here’s to many more debates. Ashish- Christopher-ion- can’t believe we never finished the Jujutsu Kaisen movie..The only thing missing from senior year was you. Niko- My long-lost brother- we still have to find the halfway point between Lynchburg and Vienna. Diya and Sachi- Goalathon MVP’s! Good luck with everything, I’m going to miss you guys! Woodstocker People- Our meetings, especially the ones where we didn’t get much done, were some of my favorite times- even though some of the topics that came up were questionable to say the least. Yuin- I think you’re the only reason I got through the tenth grade! I’ll miss talking to you more than anything, and we have to keep adding to our roommate playlist. I remember you sight read a grade 8 piece given by me which you had never heard of, and played it beautifully in one go! Ever since then I knew if I ever wanted to play like anybody, it was you. From your early childhood we have seen you become a new person every few years- initially from an innocent infant to an attention demanding child, then from not liking academics to getting great scores, from no interest in sports to becoming a badminton champion! We so look forward to everything life will blessed you with.

It seems like yesterday when you convinced us to join Woodstock school, something which none of us were prepared for in Grade 8. We were concerned about how you will handle staying away from home and felt the time we spend with you will reduce much earlier than we thought.

However 4 years later we look back fondly on how you have blossomed and come into your own – confident, kind, hardworking ,socially conscious and independent. Who knew the 7 year old child constantly chastising parents to handle plastic waster properly will be going to college in US to do environmental engineering! We all feel blessed and filled with gratitude to have you in our lives and just pray that you get all the strength and courage to chart your destiny as you desire..

Time has flown by and so has your journey at Woodstock. We still remember the first time we dropped you at Ridgewood as a 13yr old and you went in with your usual excitement and curiosity, but still a very shy boy.

We are thrilled with our darling Manav’s incredible journey, who has blossomed from a shy child into a confident young teenager ready to embrace the next chapter of his life. It feels like just yesterday when he would cry to not go on the stage, and now, he stands before us as a beacon of confidence and leadership.

Reflecting back, Manav expressed his desire to join Woodstock since the eighth grade and as parents, we hesitated to let him go. However, in the 11th grade when he finally embarked on this journey and the transformation we witnessed was nothing short of extraordinary. His time at Woodstock has moulded him into an even more self-assured individual, building upon the solid foundation he had already laid. Manav has always been known for his determination and hard work. Whatever he sets his mind on, he pursues with dedication and passion. As parents, it has been both heartwarming and rewarding to watch him grow and thrive.

It is hard to find the words to express all that we are feeling today. Proud doesn’t seem quite enough, nor does being grateful, although surely we are both of those things. We can still remember clearly as day watching you leave for your first day of kindergarten, with tears in our eyes then! Today, we will watch you walk across that stage, again with tears in our eyes.

You’ve always been so many of the things we wanted to be at your age — strong, independent, unafraid to want things fiercely, to believe you can make a difference in the world. We know you will go on to do amazing things in life. We know you are ready for this next step because we prepared you for it. But while we were preparing you for life, we didn’t prepare ourselves. We didn’t think about having to send you out into the giant world, without us!
