Wine Community The Woodinville wine industry began with the establishment of Chateau Ste. Michelle in 1976. With over 70 wineries, Woodinville Wine Country has become the core for Western Washington winemaking and wine discovery. In 2002 an eclectic group of wineries came together to form "Woodinville Wine Country", a nonprofit organization. The two things we had in common were a vision to create fine, world-class wines from Washington grapes and a burning desire to enhance our community by educating the public and driving tourism to our area.
