A multi-faceted individual, he is a radio engineer and producer, a commercial voiceover artist, a mix DJ (since the age of ten!), and a record producer. A lover of all music, Frankie has been in broadcasting for 26 years and has worked from Victoria to Halifax and various points in between. Thank you for being with us here tonight, Frankie!

the JudGes kenny shields – FrontMan, streetheart Winn$toCk 2015 is delighted to welcome kenny back to the judges’ table. a judge at the 2012 event, kenny lends to the panel his knowledge of what makes a performance outstanding. When one speaks of rock music and Western Canada in the same sentence, there is a good chance that kenny shields may be the subject of that sentence. kenny is best known to us as the frontman of streetheart, whose songs include “action”, “hollywood”, “one more time”, “tin soldier”, and “What kind of Love is this”. in sep. 2003, kenny shields and streetheart were inducted into the Western Canadian music hall of fame. We’ve kept your seat warm for you, kenny. Welcome back!
Brad osWald – Winnipeg Free press a Winn$toCk judge since 2010, we are thrilled to have Brad back to share his combined love of music and deep-seated need to share his opinions with us once again. it’s often said that “everybody’s a critic,” but in Brad’s case, it’s actually true -- in his job in the entertainment department of the Winnipeg free press, Brad has spent most of the last quarter-century getting paid for lying on his couch, eating froot Loops and watching tv, and then writing columns that tell free press readers what is and isn’t worth tuning in on the ol’ boob tube. Yes, being a tv critic is a very good gig. Brad is thrilled to be back at Winn$toCk again this year, mostly because he loves great live music and raising money for a good cause, but also partly because it gives him a reason to get off the sofa, get dressed and go outside.

Kelly Morris, Dave Hill, and Chris Durston FIRST met while studying at the Liverpool School of Art. There, they formed a skiffle band and quickly became known locally as “The Fab Three”. They were joined shortly thereafter by Brian Boyd and Murray Hill, who represented the growing “mod” movement, and Dan Struss, who represented what were being called the “rockers”. The band, now known as Mutual Fun, became popular with pirate radio stations, with their live stage shows described as “a kind of rock nirvana that most bands can only dream about”.
