DuPont 2013 Season: Appeared in 47 games in his first season as a Wildcat, making 41 starts – named to the NCAA East Region and CACC All-Tournament Teams for his play in the postseason – led the team with a .359 batting average as an outfielder and a designated hitter – collected 13 hits in eight postseason games, scoring six runs, and knocking in five – collected a season’s best three hits twice, first against Saint Rose with two RBI and a run scored, then against Chestnut Hill with a triple and an RBI. High School: Three sport athlete at A.I. DuPont High School, playing football, basketball and baseball – named Honorable Mention All-State as a shortstop in 2010 – named Delaware state Defensive Player of the Year and was a first team all-state linebacker as a senior in 2010 – named a second team all-state linebacker in 2009 – fouryear honor student at A.I. DuPont – Academic All-State member – National Honor Society member. Personal: Samuel J. Goines – son of James and Mary Goines – has two sisters, Liz and Sue – majoring in business finance at Wilmington University – his favorite all-time athletes are Chipper Jones and Lebron James – if he could be the head coac of a team for a year, he would coach the Miami Heat – his favorite cartoon character is Arnold, from Hey! Arnold.
