NORTH BEACH Welcome to North Beach Provincial Park. Located on the west side of Prince Edward County, North Beach is a picturesque bay-mouth sandbar at approximately 1,200 metres long and 200 metres wide, it is a park which is almost all beach! This beautiful sandbar, situated on Lake Ontario and North Bay, provides two different beach experiences – waves and deeper water and a more sheltered and calmer atmosphere. North Beach is a smaller recreational day-use park that is a perfect place to relax, swim, enjoy a picnic or bird watch. Please obtain your daily vehicle permit up to 5 days in advance to guarantee your spot at www.reservations.ontarioparks.com.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

A small park store is situated along the park's main roadway that offers hot lunch selections, cold refreshments and frozen treats. Personal flotation devices are available for loan at the gate house and park store. There is a boat launch suitable for small vessels on the North Bay side of the park however, boats are not permitted in swimming areas and must stay 100m from shore unless launching or loading. There is also a beach designated for visitors with dogs located at Parking lot 6.

Operating season: 2nd Saturday in June to October 2, 2022. Monday to Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm (after Labour Day 10:00am to 6:00pm) Saturday and Sunday 8:00am to 9:00pm (after Labour Day 10:00am to 6:00pm)

WATER HAZARDS

The beach on Lake Ontario can have a strong undertow depending on conditions. Please monitor the weather and exercise caution. When water is rough and waves are high, stay out. The beach on North Bay has a substantial drop off on the lake floor that is marked with buoys. There are NO LIFEGUARDS, water safety is your responsibility.

ATTENTION! BEWARE OF WATER CONDITIONS Undertows exist on Lake Ontario Beach.

Deep water drop off exists on North Bay Beach.
