The comfort that my Christian home presents to me was abolished upon experiencing the clashing of cultures and a lack of morality found on the field. Following Christ’s example, Williams Baptist College seeks to grow and develop students in a similarly holistic and balanced way. Professors at Williams are privileged to pass on their excitement about learning to students. Our faculty cultivates students cognitively through a liberal arts education that ultimately allows graduates to be prepared to think critically and to be life-long learners in order to adapt to the ever-changing market place. Education at Williams does not stop there. Students are also challenged to find where Christian faith and academic theory and concepts intersect inside the classroom. Weekly chapel services, practical service projects, and hands-on mission trips allow this integration of faith and learning to also be experienced outside the classroom. 12 // WILLIAMS BAPTIST COLLEGE

environment where eternal friendships are developed and nurtured. These eternal friends extend to faculty and staff, too, as they really care about each student as a person. It is not unusual for faculty and staff to participate in campus activities and events, even opening their homes to students where students really become part of their “family.” By developing students in a holistic and balanced way, they are not just college graduates with a lot of book knowledge, but “whole” beings who are well prepared to impact their local and global societies through their robust relationships with God, strong community of friends and supporting faculty and staff, healthy bodies, and wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Lucky seemed to understand my answer, so I continued. “Have you heard much about Jesus?” I asked her. She said He was a prophet and once she had seen a movie about His crucifixion. I also asked her if she knew why Jesus died on the cross. “To take the punishment for our sins,” she replied. Later, I asked her if she had ever considered trusting Jesus with her life. “I trust in Allah,” she said. “Our religions are similar because they expect you to do good things,” she added.
