JR Judging and Classification Contest

Junior Holstein Calf Raffle

The JAC’s will be holding a Judging and Classification contest for youth under the age of 21. There will be two age divisions - Junior, 14 & under as of January 1; and Senior, 15 & over as of January 1. Awards for the contest are sponsored by Accelerated Genetics. Your junior team may give reasons as a group and the senior team members have the choice of giving reasons as individuals. This all takes place Monday, July 11, at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. with judging starting at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $4.00 per individual or a team (up to 4) for $12.00.

Thank you Sandy Valley Farms!! The Bauer family has generously offered to donate a 2011 Registered Holstein heifer calf to the WI Holstein Juniors to benefit all participating counties in selling the WHA Junior raffle tickets. Tickets will be mailed to the county junior advisors. If the WHA office does not have a junior advisor listed for your county we will be sending tickets directly to each individual junior in that county. Additional tickets are available by calling the WHA office at 1-800-223-4269 We thank Sandy Valley Farms for their support!

WHA Youth Showmanship Contest This year all the WHA District Shows will be holding a Youth Showmanship contest. The contests will have Junior and Senior age divisions with the 10 & Under age division being optional at each District Show. Ages are as of January 1st of the year of competition. Junior is 11 to 15 and Senior is 16 to 20. Youth may sign up for the showmanship contest at check-in time and up until ½ hour before the actual showmanship contest time at your District Show. All Youth must be WHA Junior members in order to participate in the contest. Each District may send their top 3 individuals from the Junior and Senior age divisions onto the WHA State Championship Show Contest. At this time, the 10 & Under will not be held at the WHA State Championship Show.

Junior Award Forms Junior Award Forms can be found on the the WHA website at www.wisholsteins.com or you may get them from your Junior County Advisor after June 10 or or by calling the WHA office at 1-800-2234269 for a copy. If you would like to have a JAC come to one of your county meetings to help with forms, please call the WHA office and we’ll try to accommodate your group. Award forms that are due October 1 will be due October 1 in the WHA office, due to the late dates of World Dairy Expo. World Dairy Expo is later this year and we need to be able to copy and get the forms out to the judges in a timely manner. Thank you for your understanding in this change to handing in award forms.
