Mass Hysteria

Y

ears ago I learned of an indigenous tribe known for the incredible average lifespan of its members. Most of them lived to be well over 100 years old. After much research was done to discover the secret of this ‘fountain of youth’ they seemed to possess, the scientists concluded the key factor to their longevity was rooted in their beliefs about aging. You see, in their culture the elders were revered. Like, for real revered. Wrinkles and grey hair were considered the most beautiful physical traits. This belief ran deep throughout the tribe. The younger members coveted the bodies and lives of those who were older since the oldest members were valued the most by the community. The concept that it was desirable to grow older, and was in fact something to look forward to, created an incentive for their bodies to live as long as possible. I was blown away by the power of the collective consciousness and the stark difference in that culture compared to our own. I was intrigued by how much our societal beliefs affect not only our bodies, but our experience of reality. We all get older, that’s a fact, but how we experience that fact can be vastly different depending on our mass programming. In a society where so many people exist together, of course there are bound to be various perspectives about life, however, there are some insidious beliefs that have been passed down for generations and can pervade our subconscious minds, affecting our bodies and felt sense of reality, unless we become aware of these erroneous beliefs and claim our power to transform them. The tragedy of aging is not the only issue we seem to be experiencing mass hysteria about. There’s general mass hysteria about crisis. Everywhere we turn there’s another “crisis” at hand. There’s an oil crisis, a health crisis, a financial crisis, an education crisis, an immigration crisis…the list goes on and on. It’s not easy to transform collective consciousness, but it can be done. And it begins with each of us. Collective consciousness is just that, a collection of the thoughts and beliefs of many people. But the “many” is comprised of individuals. We each are responsible for the reality we perpetuate in the world with our own thoughts and beliefs. What would the world look like if everyone instantly recognized when they were in fear and knew how to transmute those energies into love? What would the world look like if everyone was whole unto themselves and valued the sovereignty of everyone else as well? What would the world look like if everyone accepted personal responsibility for their thoughts, feelings and actions and felt empowered to change their reality by tweaking their limiting beliefs? Would there be issues to fight against? Would there be policies to abolish? Would there be a health crisis, or would everyone honor their body as their temple and know how to

harness their ability to self-heal? Would there be war? In Deepak Chopraʼs book The Way of the Wizard, the wise wizard Merlin says, “Bombs don’t kill people because they explode, they explode because they kill people.” We only manifest bombs outside of us because we feel like we are about to explode on the inside. Without someone first being in fear and pain, mentally suffering under a limited belief system and looking for an outlet for their pain, bombs would not exist. No one would attack, and there would be nothing to defend. We must learn to defuse these internal bombs ourselves. We are each responsible for our own inner-bombs. The bombs inside that make us angry, the bombs inside that make us bitter and resentful, the bombs inside that make us feel hopeless and disempowered. These are the bombs that must be tended to. As we defuse these bombs, we eliminate the manufacturing of bombs in the external world. Without force, without resistance. As we change ourselves, we change the world. The world does not need more people who ask what the world needs. What the world needs are people who have come alive. Do what makes you come alive. Put your energy there. Feed your spirit. Make it strong. Live the life you know you are meant to live unapologetically. Compromise your joy for no one. We each possess the ability to be the greatest change-agent on our planet. We each are faced with the choice of either continuing to contribute to the mass hysteria of “woe are we,” or we can create a more vibrant future, beginning right now. Let us remember that we are powerful beings of Life Force Energy. Human Beings are filled with divine potential. Human Beings are transmitters of the most powerful and potent energy. Our capacity to alter our bodies and minds is unlimited. Each of us is made of divine substance. As we remember and reconnect with our most precious Source energy, we become walking channels for Grace. Without saying or doing anything, we change the world simply by walking in it. Limiting beliefs and fears can not exist under our gaze. They are called out into the light, illuminated and seen for what they are, and alchemized into Truth...with a capital “T.” Harmful energies simply can not be sustained in the presence of a one who owns his or her power. The heart and mind of such a man or woman are too clear and will not tolerate toxicity. A problem cannot be solved by the same level of consciousness that created it. We must become activists for the new consciousness, investing in thoughts and activities that raise our vibrations so that we can ascend and see a new way. A new way that doesn’t attack or defend. A new way that alchemizes with grace and love. THAT is how we will change the world and end this mass hysteria. With hope abounding,

Reader Feedback “I enjoyed reading “The ABCs of Healing” by Heidi Bright in the January-February 2016 issue of Whole Living Journal. The article gives a good idea of what to expect from Thriver Soup, an excellent book about Heidi’s journey with having and healing cancer. I particularly like that there are 252 practical tips for readers on handling different situations. Heidi’s own personal growth and transformation can help many readers, even if they do not have cancer. Thanks for the article!” Mim Grace Received via Email

“Thank you for printing the smart meter article. I took mine off of my house last year… I had to get a doctor’s note to do so and lots of letters and calls back and forth before they took it off. A friend asked me to talk to a journalist who was doing an article, but I can’t swear that it made a difference in my dystonia symptoms (or my husband’s health). Anyhow, from what I understand, Duke will remove them for now without a hassle…until PUCO says something differently.” Sherry Kaplan Cincinnati, OH

Realizes Dream

T

en years ago, Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir Eat Pray Love was released on February 16, 2006. In the time since, her book has become a longstanding global bestseller translated into over thirty languages with more than 10 million copies sold worldwide. In 2010 the story was made into a movie by the same name and starred Julia Roberts. As a result of the overwhelming success of Eat Pray Love, Elizabeth Gilbert was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. To celebrate and honor the phenomenal success of Eat Pray Love, Riverhead Books is releasing a 10th Anniversary commemorative book entitled Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It on March 29, 2016. This much anticipated anthology features stories from people of all ages and walks of life. The chosen essays are as diverse as the people who wrote them. As the title suggests, each contributor was so inspired by Eat Pray Love, that they made profound changes in their own lives as a result of reading the book. Some describe the pivotal moment they decided to leave a job, relationship or city they had passively settled into. Others tell of facing devastating illness or debilitating fears. Still more speak to finding themselves after leaving the seminary, tackling an eating disorder, or surviving divorce. Some of the stories are humorous; some are heartbreaking; all are transformative. “When I saw that Riverhead Books was accepting submissions for a 10th anniversary anthology, I knew I had to go for it,” says local author, Jen Flick. “Eat Pray Love had a huge impact on my life. I didn’t just read it and say, ‘Wow! What a great story!’ I read it and said, ‘Thank you, God for bringing this book to me. Thank you, Elizabeth Gilbert for writing it. It’s exactly what I needed right now!’ ” As it turns out, Jen’s drive to get her story submitted paid off. Her essay entitled Seek Heal Grow, along with 46 others, was selected from nearly 2,000 submissions. “Sometimes it’s best not to know your odds,” says Flick with a sparkle in her eyes. “If you had told me I had roughly a 2% chance of my essay being selected, I might have given up before I even began.”

The release of Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It was first announced in an article on January 19, 2016 by People.com, People Magazine’s online resource. In it, Elizabeth Gilbert explains how thrilling it was to finally know why her book touched so many lives. Gilbert further explains the emotional, deeply touching process of reading through the essays and finding the common component connecting them all. She noticed that at some crucial point each person realized, ‘my life doesn’t have to be this way.’ Currently, Jen Flick is collaborating with Riverhead Books to secure book signings, media appearances and interviews in April. “We’re working together to select dates for soon after the book’s March 29th release; and because Riverhead works closely with Barnes & Noble, my first signing will be at their bookstore at Newport on the Levee on Saturday, April 2nd.” When asked to summarize her Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It experience thus far, Jen Flick responded, “It’s an absolute dream come true. I am now and forever a part of the Eat Pray Love family! I’m still waiting for someone to pinch me awake.” Visit www.jenflick.com for upcoming book signing details.

Creating

Personal LOVE Statement a

by Matt Kahn Adapted from Whatever Arises, Love That: A Love Revolution That Begins with You by Matt Kahn. Copyright © 2016 Matt Kahn. Published in January 2016 by Sounds True

A

personal love statement is very powerful especially if the words “I love you” come with memories you would prefer to bury. It is very possible that you’ve heard encouraging words from those who wanted to love you but wound up lashing out in moments of frustration, anger, and desperation. If that is the case, there may be painful associations in your subconscious mind that obscure your view of love based on the actions of those who hurt you the most. Creating your personal love statement begins by asking yourself the following questions: What are the words I never heard that I always wanted to hear? Who in my experience hurt me the most? And what are the words they never said that really would have allowed my healing to occur? Whatever words arise are always valid, since any information you receive could only be the authority of your highest wisdom. Sometimes with unresolved pain, you do not need someone from your past to say “I love you” if they were never able to do so. Whatever you never heard from someone else or wanted to hear more often becomes the words you offer yourself. You can continue offering your personal love statement as a way of uplifting and blessing all beings in existence.

In order to dissolve each threat and end your fight with life, it is crucial to uncover the words you’ve always wanted to hear. Maybe they are the words that you have heard but not often enough, or maybe these words were never spoken in an authentic tone of voice. What could be said that allows you to fully be yourself? What would you need to hear to unlock your potential and bring it forward for the liberation of all? As you may already be starting to see, your personal love statement establishes a deeper level of communication with your heart. Even if you were shunned, silenced, or overpowered in the past, your inner child is always willing to be a part of your healing journey. When you offer your personal love statement with patience, softness, and consistency, your heart will soon open up and share with you the secrets that ensure your growth and expansion. As a way of discovering the words you’ve always wanted to hear or never heard often enough, please repeat the following phrases:

March - April 2016

You matter. You are enough. You are worthy of being seen and heard. You are special. There is a reason you are here. You are beautiful. You are so talented. I always want to know how you feel. You are perfect just the way you are. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for forgiving me. I am so sorry for all I have done to you. I did not know how deeply you were hurt. I’m sorry I did not consider your feelings. I was wrong. No matter how you wish to be treated by others, you can be the one who supports your emotional needs with greater consistency and enthusiasm than ever before. ntegrity shows up in our thoughts, words and actions. When our words match our actions, it is felt deep within the core of our being. The dictionary defines integrity as: 1. the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; Uprightness, trustworthiness, fairness, loyalty 2. An unimpaired condition: soundness 3. State of being whole and undivided: completeness. Integrity is the practice of being M.Ed, Counselor honest in Owner, every aspect of who we are and showing up whole. within me. When I have thoughts of fear that others might not understand me and I choose not to speak, because of the fear, I am out of alignment with who I am. I disengage from my Soul, I become divided from my core; I am out of integrity. When I choose to match my life with integrity, life becomes congruent and it fully supports the work I do. Windows and doors of opportunity fly open, dreams I never would have thought about appear, magic happens. People of integrity in all areas of my life show up, they mirror what I am sending out. When we are in integrity, we are living from a place of wholeness. No longer do we feel lost and/or broken. Remember who you are… Take action steps in accordance with your core. Take time to breathe when you are feeling more fear than truth. Gently get back in touch with yourself. We collect fragments of our Soul when we are in thinking and living in accordance with our true nature. Pieces of us can get lost in the daily hustle and bustle. Our distractions can pull us away from our True Nature. It’s time to return to wholeness as defined by our choices born from integrity. Get rid of the illusion that showing up is enough, and that not speaking your truth is okay, or that saying what you think others want to hear just to win their approval and to feel liked is fine. It’s not fine. Making choices from that place of illusion hurts the core of who you are. Connect to your true nature. Match it with integrity. Every part of your life, every fiber of your being becomes aligned with the core star of who you are when you live in alignment with your truth. As Dr. Seuss put it, “We say what we mean and we mean what we say.” When we say things that are from our core star, our words match our integrity, and we experience divine inner-peace knowing that we mean what we say. Allow integrity to flow though out into your life. Get in touch with the truth of who you are and unleash it into the World. We need you. melodies blend together to go straight to the listener’s heart. There’s healing, empowerment and love in every word and note. It’s a true work of heartwork,” says a fan of Belew’s new album. After Belew performed at an Infusion Cincinnati meeting, Whole Living Journal editor Tara L. Robinson said,

Here’s a quote from the title song The Seed written by Kim Belew: “Love, let it find you open may it remind you, what we sow is also what we reap Love is the seed” Kim started a diverse choir called T.R.U. which stands for The Revolutionʼs Underway. An eclectic group of singers and souls ranging in age from 8 to 80, this choir is comprised of people who Kim has met on her journey who also share a passion for the power of music and healing. “The choir is ever growing and expanding and teaching me a great deal about the power of music and love,” says Kim. “Like a tree that grows through concrete I have defied the odds, though it was a struggle I grew where others said it was impossible, now I stand tall beautiful, the depth and the strength of my roots unseen by most, but undeniable to those that stand next to me.”

“When Kim performs live, there are tears in the audience’s eyes, chills on their arms, and a rhythm in the air that makes you want to get up and dance!”

Love is

umans are funny creatures. Thinking the same recycled thoughts and feelings over and over, generation after generation, believing we’re not safe and need to defend our borders and bodies from an enemy that lives outside ourcells. By questioning any thoughts that aren’t loving and kind towards ourselves or others, we can soon see the error of our ways. Judgment feels heavy, it constricts our energy. Crystaria ‟The most good you can do for the world is to become a wizard. If you want to do good for the world, be completely unselfish and become a wizard. If you want to do good for yourself, be completely selfish and still become a wizard.” ~ Deepak Chopra, M.D., author The Way of the Wizard

What Women are Saying about Crystaria: “Being in the Cave is like being in God’s lap.” “They say the definition of codependency is that when you’re on your deathbed, someone else’s life flashes before your eyes. I know when my life is flashing before my eyes, I will see this time in the Cave.” “I found myself through this process in the Crystal Cave. I didn't know ʽme’ before. Crystaria introduced me to ME! I was living everyone else’s life before unconsciously as a people pleaser. But now I know my truth AND I know how to speak it!” Marge Helmbold “Wizard School was among the most transformative experiences of my life. The energy of the group was tremendously positive, and continues to be whenever we return to the Crystal Cave together. As with all such experiences, what you bring with your energy will determine the individual effect of Wizard School for you. Tara and Christine share a tremendous capacity to guide the process so that the possibilities are maximized for everyone. Those who enter the Crystal Cave with open minds and open hearts will return with inspired energy, as well as capacities previously unimagined. I always look forward to a chance to revisit the Crystal Cave. Each time I do I am refreshed, renewed and more empowered.” Frances Sheard “The wizard class introduced me to other women who, like me, were searching for how to open up to themselves. Crystaria helped us to shred the old thoughts and beliefs about how magic was presenting itself when we allowed ourselves to go ʽthe way of the wizard.’ We learned to find and express our own truths about who we are, and who we are becoming in the new ways of the wizard. We became stronger as women and greeted each other as soul sisters. Excitement and encouragement for each other ensued as a result of the safe space the Crystal Cave provided for each of us to express ourselves. We learned not to judge or label the past or present, or even the wonderful future, as it unfolds every day. I wake up knowing I have been blessed because I now know my own strength in the way of the wizard and I give thanks to the two Master Wizards Tara and Christine.” Lea Smith

Can we talk for a minute? I love you. I respect you. I value that we have differing opinions. It is the contrast that moves us out of complacency and into action. That said, I’m struggling with a common dialogue in politics... “TAKE back our country from ‘those’ people.” Breathe. (Reminding myself to do this as well) This is a democracy, made up of a variety of different people with a WIDE range of opinions. When our collective voices come together, they speak. There will be times when my voice falls away from the collective. There will be times when your voice falls away from the collective. That’s OK. It doesn’t make one a winner and the other the loser. It doesn’t mean that one has evil intent and the other holy. One is not bad, while the other good (yes, there are individuals who make poor/better choices), but collectively, to paint an entire group as “bad” or as the enemy because they don’t share your opinion? This is damaging. Divisive. Unproductive. Arrogant. For some of you, the way I express my voice with my vote means that I’m automatically cast into the “other” category. I’m the silent enemy, blocking your agenda, morals, etc. I assure you, I’m not your enemy. In fact, if you’d drop the division, you’d hear that we want similar things, we simply have different solutions/paths to achieving the same goal. Breathe. I used to buy the propaganda that you (being so politically different) were the “bad” guy. Sigh. That’s not useful rhetoric for me anymore. I’m not talking about personal politicians, him or her...I’m talking about the collective us/them vs WE. Darling, WE are in this together, so can we PLEASE stop pretending that this is them vs you, you against me or you against them? Breathe. We’re either adding to the problem, continuing the divide or we’re collaborating, creating a solution. What message are you adding to today? End rant. ~ Star Staubach

“Live the life you cannot not live.” Even if this means making those same “wrong” choices a few times over, that is purposeful, and a life well lived. Because we can’t rush ourselves into true change, we must engage the “lows” until really ready to be a high, just as the concept must sometimes be spoken a thousand times before the experience is truly had. Pushing and aggressive goaling are the mind’s agents of forward movement. There is grace and allowance in the true unfolding. Even if we loop a few times, we were meant to. To move forward in integrity and wholeness. There is no shame in living the life you cannot, not live. There is no shame in repeated patterning. Simply be conscious and compassionate as you live said life. It is calling you. It will not be denied! And then all the shame and judgment and pushing can fade away. And the point of “all of it” is won, as presence, as true love. ~ Erin Gallagher-Urtiaga The sudden flash of blue caught my eye in the dwindling daylight. Up ahead I watched a young boy of no more than five as he jumped, spun and sliced through the air with a light saber nearly as tall as he was. I tugged on Chessey’s leash to slow our approach. When the young boy saw us his shoulders collapsed. He hung his head, ashamed of his antics. “Ahoy, young Jedi,” I greeted him. “Are you with the light or the dark side of the Force?” “I’m not a real Jedi,” he mumbled. “And this,” he held up his saber, “is just a toy.” I gasped. “What? You look like a real Jedi to me.” He sadly shook his head. I continued on with my walk. When Chessey and I circled back to head home, there he was leaping and lunging at an imaginary enemy. Again, as we approached, he collapsed his blade and slumped his shoulders, as though he’d been caught doing something wrong. I stood tall and looked him straight in the eye. “We mean you no harm, young Jedi. I ask permission for my dog and I to pass.” His jaw dropped. Then he snapped to attention, turned on his sword and said in a voice filled with purpose, “Permission granted.” Imagination is one of our greatest gifts. The world desperately needs more Jedi warriors. ~ Kathryn Martin Ossege

Pranic Healing™

Major

a

Breakthrough in Energy Healing by Joanne Miller

I

had been curious about energy healing and how it could change the physical body so I decided to see a chiropractor for a Pranic HealingTM session. I didn’t really feel anything through the first part of the session, but when he began local sweeping (cleansing) on my throat chakra area, I began to feel physical sensations. He continued cleaning my throat and I began to feel as though a rubber band were snapping against my neck. But when he moved beyond the throat, I again felt nothing. The next morning I took the thyroid medication I had been using for five years. Recently I had begun to think it wasn’t effective any longer and the dosage might need to be increased, however, that day I had a severe overdose reaction to it. It was suddenly medically necessary to reduce the dosage by 75%. I have since been able to discontinue the medication entirely. Pranic HealingTM is a no touch energy healing modality which utilizes cleansing and energizing to restore the body to a natural state of balance. The cleansing part of Pranic HealingTM separates it from other modalities because it is about 80% of the work. The cleansing techniques are specific and include sweeping through the entire energy body as well as localized sweeping of chakras, organs, and affected areas. Through the writings of Alice Bailey, we know that Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul said, “All disease is a result of inhibited Soul Life.” This Soul Life can also be called Life Force. Cleansing blockages allows the body’s innate self-healing ability to improve through increased life force energy flow. In addition, cleansing before energizing reduces or eliminates “healing crisis” which can frequently occur with other energy healing modalities. Pranic HealingTM is also protocol based which separates it from other energy healing modalities. Once the basic techniques are learned and understood, it is possible to refer to Pranic HealingTM books and apply the appropriate protocol for the determined illness. Pranic healers do not diagnose illnesses. Diagnoses of other medical professionals are used to determine the proper protocol. The founder of modern Pranic HealingTM was Master Choa kok Sui, who was born in the Philippines to a Chinese family of healers. As a young man, Master Choa

18

pursued metaphysical studies and practiced advanced yogic techniques. He also studied chemical engineering and became a successful businessman. However, he felt a great desire to alleviate the suffering of the poor people of the Philippines who had no access to healthcare. He wanted to develop an easy to learn and effective type of healing system to help those in need. Pranic HealingTM was developed in the 1970’s and 1980’s when Master Choa kok Sui began evaluating many kinds of healing modalities. The root modality of modern Pranic HealingTM is fifth level Chinese medicine which was practiced in ancient Tibet, India, China, and Egypt under different names. With the assistance of high level clairvoyants, it was determined that all patients with a particular illness had a similar energy pattern and that the pattern for a particular family of illness did not look like other families of illnesses (e.g. heart disease has a different pattern than diabetes or cancer). Various techniques of cleansing and energizing were evaluated until nearly all of the patients in the group were healed. At that point the protocol was considered complete and the next group or illness was evaluated. Ultimately, hundreds of protocols were developed to heal physical, psychological and emotional ailments. Pranic HealingTM was only one of Master Choa kok Sui’s gifts to humanity. He also developed a program for spiritual development called Arhatic Yoga and courses for prosperity through energy management. During April 9-11, there will be several opportunities to attend introductory lectures on a number of different topics related to Pranic HealingTM in Cincinnati and Dayton with Master Stephen Co, a senior disciple of Master Choa kok Sui. Master Co will be returning to Cincinnati May 14-16 for Pranic HealingTM classes. Conquer Your COLD

Herbs ‘n Such, by Mimi Tagher

O

bviously the best way to conquer a cold (or sore throat, flu, etc.) is to avoid getting sick in the first place. The best way to ensure good health is to follow the age old rules our grandmothers told us about: WASH your hands; EAT your vegetables; get enough SLEEP; EXERCISE - play outside; COVER your mouth when you cough; STAY AWAY from people who are sick. What was true 100 years ago is still true today. An apple a day (and a carrot, and brussel sprouts, and broccoli...) go a long way on the road to prevention. But we know a great deal more today about the immune system than we did long ago. We know the health of our gut is a major factor, so taking probiotics is very important. We know stress plays a significant role in our wellbeing, so B vitamins are important dietary supplements. We know that taking vitamin D benefits the immune system and vitamin C helps the respiratory system. Yet still, even if we take good care of ourselves, sometimes we get sick. Then what do we do? First, pay attention to your body. Learn to listen to those first signs and symptoms that indicate something is wrong. Everyone has a little something that is their own body’s way of telling them something is amiss. For some it is a scratchy throat, maybe a headache, maybe fatigue, or a little stuffiness that says, “I might be catching a cold.” If you listen well enough, you can curb that cold or combat that illness. Below are some time tested herbs and herbal formulas that work amazingly well. Knowing how and when to use them is key. I keep all of these products in my herbal medicine cabinet:

Echinacea - best used for prevention. Use all winter to help moderate an immune reaction. Increase the dose before travel, times of stress, or if others around you are sick. Use only pharmaceutical grade, and the root is best, rather than the flower. If your echinacea product does not make your tongue and mouth tingle, it is not good quality and will not be 20

effective. Echinacea C from Standard Process and Echinacea Premium from Mediherb are by far the best in my opinion.

Chywanprash - the primary action is to bolster the immune system and to support the body’s ability to produce hemoglobin and white blood cells. It is a rich source of antioxidants, and has one of the highest available concentrations of vitamin C. Use a small dose daily for prevention, a double dose if someone around you is sick. At the first sign of illness, triple or quadruple the dose until signs have disappeared. Yin Qiao - one of the most important Chinese formulas to help combat colds, sore throats and flu. If used at the very first sign of illness (i.e. scratchy throat) it is over 90% effective. It works by boosting the immune system, clearing heat, and eliminating toxins. Congaplex - use at the first sign of illness to help

combat colds and flu. It contains vitamins A and C, which are especially important for the respiratory system. It also contains calcium lactate which helps boost the immune system and reduce fever. Thymex, another ingredient, signals the thymus gland to turn on the immune system and get ready to fight.

My Sacred Sabbatical Seeing Light in the Dark and

Finding Gifts within Grief

I

nconsolable is a word I never understood before being thrown into my sacred sabbatical and residency with grief. Reflecting on the past eighteen months, I am only now beginning to see the gifts within the dark nights of my soul. I’ve always had a relationship with the dark, and over time, through difficult experiences, I have gathered much medicine to store in my own medicine bag for future use. A recent reality-check reminded me that no matter how many tools I gather, I ultimately have the choice to use them to uplift or destroy myself. As an intuitive and spiritual life coach, my own medicine and experiences have been my greatest teachers. Experiencing victimhood and rising to become victorious was a long journey for me. It was worth the pain because it continues to give me an opportunity to speak and act from my deepest truth when working with others. My personal philosophy appreciates the power of authenticity derived through connection to one’s pain. My own healing required seeing the gifts of my suffering, releasing much of the pain, and engaging in the work of forgiveness. I decided to no longer dodge my demons with temporary fixes. Fast forward to my sacred sabbatical... Within a short period of time, my husband fell out of love with me; my beloved Yorkie of fifteen years crossed over; and my mother lost her battle with cancer. I realize everyone experiences death and loss. I just had never experienced so much loss personally. I am now grateful that during this time of loss I was deeply immersed in many activities: yoga teachers’ training, Shamanic Priestess Process apprenticeship, hosting a radio show, writing a column for a magazine, publishing my book and seeing clients. I could not walk away from a single one of these commitments due to my own sense of responsibility for keeping my word. But in my internal world, I remained inconsolable. Old habits creeped into my thoughts, “What could dull the pain? Drugs? Alcohol? A new relationship? Taking my life?” These thoughts often once consumed me while facing life’s greatest challenges. Within my grief, old doubts, fears and insecurities resurfaced, but this time it was different. Most strikingly, I knew I had found the elusive self-love I had always longed for and now I was going to get the experience of maneuvering through my sadness, anger and many more emotions totally raw without the assistance of temporary fillers to numb the pain. As a result of allowing myself to fully feel and sit in the

pain the gifts began to show themselves. Spirit showed up and presented me with an opportunity to take a sabbatical at the perfect moment. I was given a chance to let go of my ego and receive. I received the gift of solitude when my dear friends offered for me to stay at their lake house. These friends have witnessed my spiritual growth over the past thirty years. I’ve spent almost a year going back and forth between Cincinnati and Lake Buchanan, Texas. My time at the lake has given me tremendous…silence. It’s allowed me to do essential inner work slowly and at my pace. Returning to Cincinnati to continue my life’s craft through workshops and Sacred Circle also gives me the gift of compassion and deep understanding for how others process their own loss and grief. Grief is personal. There is no time limit. Sometimes it is necessary to simply step back from our bustling life and instead work to slow down in order to actually absorb and process our experiences. The gift in grief is being able to acknowledge another’s grief with love and without judgment. I will continue to be in different stages of healing, I am certain, for some time. I am grateful to be fully present in grief. Here I feel the range of emotions connected to loss and death. I am no longer inconsolable, but life has definitely changed. I feel a stronger connection to myself. I have begun to explore ways for the memories to be in my heart and to move forward knowing I received the greatest gift of all: an opportunity to love myself even deeper, through my solitude. To meet myself where I am. I am grateful for the fifteen years of unconditional love from my darling dog Butters, and will also hold love in my heart for the time I spent in my marriage. Most of all, I am grateful for the gift of holding my mother’s hand while she took her last breath. I see light in the dark. Energy Healing Exchanged for Love Offering

Since 1985 Life Success Seminars (LSS), a 501(3)(c), has been fostering individual greatness in the Cincinnati area through programs that empower participants to develop better personal and professional relationships, tap into their hidden potential, and lead happier, more successful lives. LSS has now directly changed the lives of over 15,000 participants from 48 states and 11 countries. One LSS grad summed it up: “The ways it has changed my life are almost too many to list but my family life is richer, my professional life is more successful, and my inner life is more satisfying.” Through great commitment and determination, the Life Success grads built a facility in 2003, and the West Chester Conference Center operated as LSS’ home for the next 11 years. In a 2010 interview, before his retirement

as executive director, Mike Monahan said, “I spend a lot of time convincing Life Successʼs grads that the organization needs to keep changing in order to be successful, just like people need to change in order to grow.” In 2014 Life Success realized the effort running the conference center was distracting from the mission of changing lives. This challenge was addressed by selling the center, refreshing its seminars, and developing additional facilitators. Basic is now streamlined to a 3-day experience: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Students have Sunday back to enjoy with family and friends. Basic is held in the West Chester area, and facilitated by some new, as well as

some familiar faces. Life Success Seminars offers classes throughout the year. Basic and Advanced classes are booking now. Visit www.lifesuccessseminars.com to register or for the 2016 schedule and other details, including a brand-new video highlighting a Life Success class, or call 513.444.2047 to reserve your seat. Upcoming Basic weekends will be held March 3-5, May 5-7, July 7-9, Sep 1-3, and Oct 6-8. IPI weekends are Apr 6-10, Aug 17-21, Nov 2-6. Next Step will take place May 4-8.

Unity of Garden Park, Cincinnati Jesus showed by His life and teachings that it is the will of the Creator for men and women to be well. Energy Healing, also known as Spiritual Healing, depends on faith. For a healing to happen, one must be open to the possibility of it. Having faith in a loving Creator allows the healing to happen instead of blocking it. This is why energy healing works with all religions. Even though it is the Creator who does the healing, the healing practitioner who is the witness makes it possible through the act of co-creation. At one time or another, we all experience difficulty, even crises in our lives. This experience may take a variety of different forms and we may choose to seek assistance of many different kinds. On the 3rd Sunday of each month,

volunteer practitioners who have been trained in energy healing arts offer individual 30 minute treatment sessions at Unity of Garden Park. Universal healing energy is neutral and awaits the positive, productive empowerment by the recipient. Reiki, Healing Touch, Pranic Healing, Vibrational Tuning and Theta Healing are among the healing systems that are in use today around the world. These techniques address both chronic and acute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the body’s systems and supporting the regenerative processes of body and mind. Practitioners of many different healing modalities are available at Unity of Garden Park every 3rd Sunday from 12:30-2pm. Come early if youʼd like and enjoy the Sunday service with Rev. Kathy Engelhardt. Unity of Garden Park is located at 3581 West Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45239. More info can be found on the website at www.unityofgardenpark.org

Wow Wow Intuitive Insights, by Francine Haydon and Patricia Garry

F

ortunately, throughout our lives, we both have used our intuition and intellect to develop, grow and pursue our life purpose. Our families, teachers and close friends embraced the idea that “you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish” and “if you can imagine it, you can make it happen.” That philosophical lifestyle included paying attention to our dreams, the voices and visions around us, feelings of apprehension or excitement, and outright “hunches” or “knowings” to take certain action. Nothing was surreal about this, it felt natural…and we assumed it was so for everyone else. However, as we got older, we realized that not everyone felt the same. Many people let their fears, lack of confidence, and the naysayers around them, determine what they can or cannot do. They don’t believe in using all of their senses – physical and intuitive – or they have let them atrophy. They let fear of the unknown create limits. If they cannot see it, touch it, or hear it, they do not believe it exists. Poppycock!

taught to believe. Rather than being victims of every bad thing in our culture, rather than being little and powerless, we are seeing that we are huge spiritual beings, vibrating to every color of the rainbow. And we can instantly recognize others who understand these truths. This opens up the playground in which we live into a much bigger space, and brings the potential for joy and ease into reality. Try sitting quietly with this new concept in your head. Consider that life on Earth is a playground, and you can add anything to your experience on the playground you would like. Decide what you would like to have happen in the next couple of days. Maybe you’d like a new dress, or maybe you’d like a relationship at work to become more pleasant. Whatever your desire, make a happy picture in your mind about it. Feel the grin on your face in your whole body – that will make your grin ever bigger. Do this three or four times each day until you see that reality in front of you. It won’t take long. Just embrace your wow.

Superstring Theory Proves More Than Meets the Eye In the 1960’s, scientists developed the Superstring Theory (later, M or Membrane Theory) that states everything is made up of tiny particles called strings (open and closed) and that all things exist in ten or more dimensions. The Closed Loop Strings vibrate and twist through all dimensions and times and can go anywhere. The Open Loop Strings have an attachment point/end to our 3-dimensional world or membrane. Primarily, we deal with the four dimensions of height, depth, width and time. But scientists say there are at least six or more dimensions we just do not have the technology to prove yet. Suddenly, woo woo becomes wow wow. Science is proving we are way more than we have been

Date a Goddess How to

by Shamanic Priestess Feather Excerpted from the book How to Date a Goddess

W

ho and what is a Goddess? A Goddess is a female who has integrated her whole being with the power of Divine Love. A Goddess is a woman who has not only received the tools necessary for doing her sacred work, but has also learned powerful skills for using those tools. A Goddess chooses love over fear. As she dances up the Spiral Path, she uses her sacred tools to walk in love and light. She embraces the dark night of the soul as the dawning of the light of a brand new day. So how should a hopeful partner engage with such a lady? Authenticity is at the top of her list. Her mate must walk the talk in order to have a chance to dance with a Goddess. Earth roles do not matter to her. Janitor, farmer, contractor, engineer or CEO make no difference. She just desires a partner who is genuine. A Goddess will not dance long with someone who is embodying a facade. To be dressed for the part is awesome, as long as her partner matches the attire. A free style dance is created between the couple. No need for perfection, or even an over-the-top performance. A Divine Goddess knows the true essence of the dance, and she knows every footstep is sacred. Every spin is divine. The true form of her partner is what she will see as they tango. When you ask a Goddess to dance and she says yes, take her hand and lead her into a wholehearted ballet of magical moves. If she calls you over with her eyes, have no fear. This is an opportunity for you to be embraced with unconditional love. The fairytale of a damsel in distress and a hero who saves her is not her love story. She has done her sacred work and knows the hero is within her, as it is also within everyone’s heart. A Goddess wants a partner who desires to know her like no one has ever known her before. What is her favorite bottle of wine? What does she love to eat for a midnight snack? What

does her soul long for? Know when to give her space and when to hold her tight. Know what her sacred work is without asking her and support her in that dance. She desires a partner who feels her presence when she walks into the room before she is even seen. A Goddess expects to be treated the same way at home as in public. If a lady chooses to dance with you, she will not miss a beat, however, as her partner, you must finish the song. Remember it is all about an open, authentic, free style dance. It is an amazing opportunity to be with a true, open hearted being. What a great gift to learn to move with sacredness and love. Some nights might be best suited for a ballroom dance, some a passionate tango, some nights she might need to sit it out or dance alone. Every move and twirl will be from her heart to your heart. About the author: Shamanic Priestess Feather, is a master herbalist with her own line of organic herbs, Whole Herbs. She specializes in creating custom blends according to specific needs. She is also an iridologist and aroma therapist. She is currently writing her first book, How to Date a Goddess. She lives in Cincinnati. 812.221.4594 lunsfordapril@gmail.com
