Welcome About us Thank you for enquiring to advertise here with us at the University of Westminster Students’ Union! We span across four different campuses in central London. UWSU has a presence on five sites across central London with Students’ Union offices on each campus, with entertainment venues at Harrow. We have an outreach to 23,000 students with over 100 societies, 35 sports teams, our own radio and TV station, print newspaper and magazine. Please take a look through our media pack, which details all the opportunities for Freshers and how you can work with us here at UWSU. Why advertise with us? 7,000 new students are joining us at UWSU! Advertising and sponsorship opportunities with us are the most effective and direct way of reaching University of Westminster students. This guide will take you through the journey of engaging with our students from the moment of accepting their spot at University, right through to our Freshers Fair’s. We have a whole range of exciting opportunities and we hope you find this pack useful in helping you choose the most suitable channel for your business. Freshers is one of our busiest times of the year, and the first opportunity to promote your business to our students and create loyal customers. We also have many returning students, so this is a great chance to re-introduce your brand to them. Hosting a fair at each site means we can target every student during their enrolment process, making that very important first impression and creating a real impact!
Make an impact before the semester starts

6,000 packs will be sent out to students in August 2018 including our membership guide, Freshers newspaper and events timetable. This is a direct way to engage with students before they come to the Fairs. Leaflet inserts- ÂŁ1,000 Advert space on letter- ÂŁ600
Hall Drop Hall drops are another way we can promote your business, where we will place a promotional item on the desks of 500 students rooms. Email Newsletter In the lead up to the students’ arrival, we send out a series of emails directed at second year, third year, internationals and post grads. We offer a small advert space which is the perfect way to either notify students that your brand is coming to the Westminster Freshers Fairs or to advertise your brand in general.

We offer two web banners, one smaller static banner and a larger banner on a reel with the option to have a click through to your website. Between August and October our website is flooded with new students keen for information on our Freshers’ week and their new University. With over 12,000 likes and 8,200 followers, our social media platforms get great engagement during the Freshers period. We price posts individually, however we do offer packages on request, for example 2 tweets and 1 Facebook post for just £150. Our Student Media
Smoke Media Smoke Media is the University of Westminster’s student-led media collective. We produce a monthly 16-page newspaper and 28-page magazine, broadcast live radio shows 24/7, and prodcue regular videos and video livestreams. Our audience are highly connected, heavy consumers of mobile content, and are influential online.

Goody Bags We will be giving out 5,000 goody bags during Freshers fortnight for all students attending the fairs and enrolment days. For externals who can’t make the Fairs, this is the perfect opportunity to still get your marketing into the students hands. We fill the bags with Students’ Union promotional items, information regarding the Union, internal information from the University, and of course some great freebies from externals! All our bags are given out via our promotional team across the 4 days. Why not add your logo to the welcome bags to carry your brand into the student market? £1,000 to print on 5,000 bags.

Stalls Our Freshers Fairs are one of the biggest events for both new and current students. This is the perfect time to engage with students when they are discovering new brands and trying new things. A stall at our Freshers Fair gives you the chance to engage face to face and promote your products and services to thousands of students! We offer multiple stall booking discounts, if you book two or more stalls you get a 15% discount!

How to book Please email media@su.westminster.ac.uk with a list of advertising options you are interested in or any questions you may have. We will send you a booking form to complete sign and return to us. We will then send you your invoice, this is to be paid within 30 days of receiving it and before the activity takes place. Any information you may need regarding social media guidelines to a postal address, will be sent through with your booking form.
