tures some heavy rock (Exfixia, StillFear), some rootsy blues (Leif James, Boxcar String Band) and some in-between (The Sofa Kings). Your admission goes toward local Humane Societies as

well as the “Lost Dogs” film project. Note: You have to be 21 or older to get in. 7 p.m., $5, Mountain’s Edge (61303 U.S. Highway 97, Bend). • The furtive and fun-loving

folks from the Harp Hall Social Club have begun hosting regular shows at their favorite hangout, The Annex. Tonight, they welcome Back from the Dead, a gang of well-known locals who play acoustic folk music with horns! And, they’re adding a drummer for this show. Sounds awesome! Way to mix it up, guys. 7:30 p.m., free, The Annex (51 N.W. Greenwood Ave., Bend). • The new Bend Performing Arts Center has been hosting local musicians recently for a monthly series they’re calling NightSounds at the PAC, which is excellent; any time a new venue opens up for locals to play, it’s a very good thing. On Monday, it’s Blowin’ Smoke’s turn to make the sounds. In case you forgot, that’s one of the bands that rose from the ashes of El Dante, featuring vocalist Marzell Sampson and a tight band that pumps out funk, soul, rock and reggae

grooves like it’s their job. 7 p.m., $5, Bend Performing Arts Center (1155 S.W. Division St., Bend). • The new Jade’s Jazz Lounge (51470 U.S. Highway 97 #5, La Pine) is settling into a groove this weekend with a couple of shows featuring local musicians. First up tonight is Ed Criss, a bluesy guitarist who’ll perform with his collection of “multiple and unusual” guitars, plus his world-famous quick wit. Then on Saturday, you can catch Bella Via, a well-traveled local trio that mixes jazz, blues and pop classics with original material. Both shows will start at 7 p.m., and cover is $5 both nights. — Ben Salmon
