EKFB - HS2 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

HS2 Construction Update

In the Wendover area currently we are progressing the sheet piling works along the existing network rail line. We have been preparing the area with clearance work, created a platform to access the rail line as well as track monitoring. We can only work when there are no running trains, therefore these works will be completed overnight. You can find the full notification of these works on the HS2 ‘In your area’ section on the website.

Around the Nash Lee area, you will start to see the preparation earthworks for the temporary diversion. This diversion will be in place while we construct the permanent alignment of Nash Lee Road along with the bridge which will run over the trace. The new road layout will run with tie ins to the existing roundabout and provide access for Nash Lee Road and the residents of Nash Lee Lane.

We have received a handful of queries into the helpdesk regarding HS2 vehicles in Wendover. We have designated routes which we are allowed to take to our construction sites. This does not include any routes through Wendover. When vehicles leave site they have to follow the designated routes back to their depots unless they are then moving onto non-HS2 business. You can find further details on EKFB traffic guide on the HS2 website.

Throughout September, our five delivery teams within EKFB participated in a ‘Race the Trace’ which saw teams “race” the length of the HS2 trace that EKFB are delivering. The North Chilterns Area team raised over £1000 which was donated to Buckinghamshire Mind Charity with a total over £6000 raised for other Buckinghamshire charities.
