A
career dedicated to cancer nursing innovation and research has won Nepean Cancer Care Centre Clinical Nurse Consultant, Louise Maher, the Sydney West Cancer Network’s inaugural Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Nursing Fellowship. Equivalent to a $7,000 scholarship, the Fellowship will allow Louise to spend two weeks at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark exploring cancer care innovation and learning from their Cancer Care team. Louise will also spend time
introducing Sydney West Cancer Network models of cancer care to Aarhus University Hospital staff. It’s hoped the Fellowship will also further strengthen ties with the Danish hospital. Ms Maher is thrilled to be the fir st recipient of the Fellowship. “It’s a great honour. The Sydney West Cancer Network is at the cutting edge of cancer care innovation,� she said. With over 25 years’ experience in cancer nursing, Ms Maher has a long track record of innovation in the field and has conducted extensive nursing research into everyday clinical matters.
