Grace Ormonde has a theory: underpromise and over deliver. So, with a new year, comes lots of new projects. While she won’t disclose most of them, the release of the secoond digital edition does confirm the rumor that the luxury magazine is now a quarterly publication. What else is she up to, you ask? You’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
I see that you did a story on Monaco. What made you choose this destination for your honeymoon story? Monaco is a place that
fascinates me and that I have always wanted to go to. It is an incredible destination for yacht lovers, opera lovers and jet-setters.

It is ideal for a couple that is looking for luxury and wants to experience a different type of honeymoon.

and everything that we are working on implementing, we are able to show more content giving our readers more inspiration for planning their wedding. I see that your destination wedding story covers private homes. Are you finding that more couples are getting married at home?
There are more destination weddings than ever before, except now instead of choosing five-star hotels or luxury venues as their wedding location, couples are
also looking for private estates and mansions from around the world that they can rent out.
There are so many that I would like to go to, but there is never enough time as
planning on traveling to this year?
my schedule tends to get pretty hectic. But, just to name a few, I will be finishing off the year in Portugal, the Azores and Brazil and in 2013 it looks like I will be going to the Philippines, China and Dubai. Why do you show so many tabletop and décor images in your magazine? I feel that our
readers are looking for all sorts of ideas.
They want to see what these amazing event designers are capable of and what they are creating for their discerning clients. With this digital edition, there are more opportunities to show décor that I know the Grace Ormonde Wedding Style reader wants to see. What are your sentiments about love? When couples get married, families from Brazil are coming to the United States for the wedding; couples from America are going to Italy and France for a destination wedding. Love is global and particularly with the digital edition, people are able to access

Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is a take-charge guy on the field, and he was equally confident while courting Sabrina Robinson back in their college days at Rutgers. “He’d come right up ...
... to me, even when I was talking to some other guy, and tell me he was going to marry me someday,” recalls Sabrina. Kenny’s prediction came true on Feb., 24, 2012. Sabrina told planner Karen Kaforey of Nashville’s Signature Events, that the celebration needed to focus on family, friends, fun and “fabulous.” Kenny mostly took a seat on the bench, but did help select the
venue—the elegant Merion Palazzo Ballroom in Cinnaminson, N.J.—by reminding Sabrina that she wanted a wedding that was “Grace Ormonde worthy.” On the wedding day, Kenny’s first glimpse of his bride wasn’t at the altar, but as she descended the venue’s sweeping staircase. “When I first saw her, it was the best part of the evening,” says Kenny. Following the couple’s tender exchange of vows, the festivities opened with a cocktail hour featuring all the trappings of a tailgate party with Hennessey cocktails in lieu of beer. They were a big hit, particularly with Kenny’s teammates, Vince Young and Nate Washington, among others. Once the Manhattan Swing Band kicked in, the dancing didn’t even stop for dinner. Some guests—including the bride and groom—got so caught up in the party that they neglected to eat, so the Merion staff

thoughtfully boxed up their meals to go. The final showstopper was designed by Kaforey, who placed the wedding cake in front of a curtain that was drawn revealing a sumptuous dessert station. It was “a white winter wonderland of any dessert you can imagine,” recalls an awestruck Sabrina. Kenny and Sabrina’s wedding was a night
full of memorable moments, from the groom getting dressed with the help of his brother and son, to the couple’s daughter, Ava, cutting into the couple’s first dance to the delight of the crowd. “It was the memory of a lifetime for us,” says Sabrina.

... kindled Shivani’s sympathies. The two got better acquainted over long phone conversations while Vinod, a cardiology fellow, recovered and Shivani, a psychiatry resident, was on vacation. It wasn’t long before they became a couple. On Shivani’s 30th birthday, Vinod’s planned proposal was delayed when he performed

a complicated surgery forcing him to use his backup plan of dinner at an oceanside restaurant and a proposal on the beach. As they headed toward the water, Shivani blurted: “I have a feeling that something bad is about to happen.� The premonition came true as her heel caught on a step, she scraped her leg, and sprinklers turned on soaking the pair. When they finally reached the water, Shivani declared her birthday
needed a do-over, creating the perfect opening for Vinod: “I’ll give you tomorrow,” he said, “if you’ll give me the rest of your life.” Seven days of celebratory events leading to the wedding day were capped by a rehearsal dinner on a yacht out of Newport Harbor. On the couple’s wedding day, the religions of both families were honored with a Catholic Church service in the morning followed by a Hindu ceremony and reception later that day. Shivani’s dreams of an outdoor wedding
overlooking the ocean came true at Pelican Hill. She was able to peek out a window to watch Vinod’s baraat before she entered royally carried atop a doli. According to the groom, the reception was “the most crazy, fun party” he ever attended. “We danced until we were just about to pass out.”

During her favorite song, “Faithfully,” Wes got down on one knee and proposed. Jenn’s happy “yes” came amidst

One of the couple’s favorite activities is playing poker—both have played in World Series of Poker events—so it was only fitting that Darin chose Las Vegas as the setting for his proposal. One weekend, Darin told Clair to pack her bags, but refused to tell her where they were headed. He even got the flight

attendants and airport security to keep hushhush on their mystery destination. Their first stop—Los Angeles—was just a diversion before they landed in Sin City. On a private helicopter ride over the strip, Darin popped the question. As much as they love Vegas, the couple couldn’t imagine their nuptials taking place

without a beach close-by, so they chose the Barceló in Riviera Maya, Mexico. But before heading south, they honored Clair’s heritage, hosting a Vietnamese tea ceremony. Clad in traditional áo dài outfits, the couple served tea to their family, and in exchange, was blessed with wedding presents and advice. Wanting to inject their wedding with ample special touches, the duo brought eight suitcases full of projects with them. “We wanted to personalize our wedding,” says Clair, who also managed to sneak in a few surprises for Darin, too, including a video from one of his favorite hockey players, Ryan Smyth, wishing them the best of luck in their marriage. At Yitzhak Dalal Photography, requests for couple boudoir shoots are fairly new, but definitely on the rise. “I think it is an excellent gift to one another and a way to capture an intimate moment in time,” adds the wedding and fashion photographer of 25 years. “And as they say: You will never look better! of Park City, Utah, while playing fetch with their dogs, that the couple got engaged and started planning their 11-11-11 wedding. Desiring a hot destination where their guests could relax, they decided on Miami Beach. The long weekend kicked off with Thursday’s rehearsal dinner on the roof of the Soho Beach House hotel. With a theme of “Havana Nights,” the celebration incorporated live music, a cigar roller and specialty drinks. An evening highlight was the slideshow, which the hotel allowed the couple to project on the south side of the building.

Friday night’s ceremony was also at the South Beach hotel and “every word was written by us,” says Joey. For the processional, Jonathan entered with his parents and then Joey followed with his to a live rendition of “True Colors.” By the end, all 165 guests were standing up cheering
and crying. Many of the couple’s parent’s friends even shared how they had deeply meaningful reactions to their first samesex experience. “They called themselves ‘changed for life,’” shares Joey, who says that the most beautiful thing about the wedding “was the pure raw emotion and love.”
With a number of celebrity guests in attendance, think Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, the reception location was kept under wraps and everyone was secretly transported to The Villa by Barton G. When the group pulled up to the gates of the former Versace Mansion it set the tone for “one of the most incredible nights of our lives,” says Joey. After dinner their favorite L.A. DJ spun until the late night. On Saturday they hosted a daytime pool party back at the hotel followed by the final fiesta: a delicious seafood buffet and beach bonfire. But from the moment he saw her in the boardroom at Lehman Bros., Noah knew he’d met his match. “The first day that I met her, right off the bat, I was blown away,” the hedge fund trader confides. Rather than a lavish ceremony in a New York City wedding hall, the adventurous Manhattanite couple decided a destination wedding

would better suit their simply chic style. “We were looking for something off the beaten path,” real estate agent Lauren says. “We wanted to keep it intimate.” After friends described the Viceroy Anguilla, the pair traveled to the Caribbean and fell in love with everything about the island and the resort. On their wedding day, 42 of the New Jersey natives’ closest family and friends gathered to witness the pair become husband and wife. The outdoor ceremony was almost ruined by grey, drizzly weather, but just before

loved grandmother who was Lauren’s best friend—the wedding party celebrated the night away to the musical stylings of a steel drum band and local DJ.
