The Places You’ll Go! Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana operates seven amazing camps throughout our council. Two of these are the setting for the Resident Camps you’ll attend.

Wet, Wild and Wonderful: Bear Creek Aquatic Camp
Wowed in the Woods: Camp Pennyroyal
If you love the water, this is the place for you! Located on scenic Kentucky Lake, 45 minutes south of Paducah, Kentucky, Bear Creek Aquatic Camp features two miles of shoreline just made for canoes, kayaks, sailboats and windsurfing. You’re just a boat ride away from Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, an awesome destination for overnight trips.
Camp Pennyroyal welcomes girls in elementary and middle school. If you’ve never been to camp before, bring a parent, your whole family, or your Girl Scout troop with you. Or try it on your own for just a few nights — discovering a mystical land of fairies or letting go and keeping cool Arendelle-style. If you’re an experienced camper, stay for a six-day session where you can play spy games, immerse yourself in the world of wizards, or let all your creative energy shine! And for you horse-lovers, we’re again offering “Take the Reins” – it’s all horses, all the time!

We want every girl to enjoy an incredible camping experience — and every parent to enjoy complete peace of mind. That’s why each camp is staffed by mature, responsible individuals chosen for their professionalism, youth camping experience, abilities and certifications. All our leaders are screened and interviewed, and all undergo thorough background checks. Each staff member also participates in intensive pre-camp training as well as ongoing training in vital areas including healthcare, First Aid and CPR, safety practices and procedures, camp skills, child and adolescent development and Girl Scout programs. We provide specially-trained program specialists for lifeguards, horseback riding, archery, low and high ropes, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and other adventure program areas.
Options for Every Age! Resident Camp: A Great Next Step! Resident Camp offers girls an overnight camp experience for several days and nights (the average is five nights). Staff and volunteers provide around the clock supervision, prepare well-balanced meals and lead the girls through activities like horseback riding, high ropes, swimming and boating. Girls can even choose to share the adventure with a friend!
Troop Sessions at Camp: Blaze a Trail! The name says it all! This one is all about the group — you and your troop, blazing new trails together, planning new adventures and exploring new possibilities. On your path to becoming leaders, this camp will be a milestone, giving you the chance to chart your own course and take responsibility for your own destiny…just as you’ll do in real life!
