Farragut Vision, Town Officials & Contacts

Town of Farragut

Farragut is home to just over 23,500 people who love our small-town atmosphere. With top schools, safe neighborhoods and high development standards, Farragut is one of the best places to live in the Southeast.

This is a town of volunteers. Volunteers serve as elected and appointed offi cials on boards and committees that supplement the town’s small professional staff . They give their time and talents to accomplish the town’s vision: to redefi ne quality of life, with a beautiful, close-knit, connected community, where families and business thrive.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen, the town’s chief legislative body, works hard to serve residents and make decisions about how to use Farragut’s limited resources. The board, along with the staff , establishes priorities, sets goals and makes plans to achieve the community’s vision for the future.

Operating without a municipal property tax requires the Town of Farragut to be strategic with its resources. As such, the town has adopted a strategic plan to identify its vision, mission and critical success factors. When deciding how to utilize resources, the board looks to the strategic plan to determine whether the use under consideration would positively impact one or more critical success factors. In this way, the town uses the strategic plan as a map and compass, guiding decisions as it moves toward the future. Together, the elements of the strategic plan describe what success looks like for Farragut.

In recent years, the town has successfully fi lled empty tenant spaces with thriving businesses. Elected offi cials and staff work with strategic partners to plan for future commercial and residential growth. These successes have made Farragut a great community to call home for families and businesses alike.

It has been a long-term goal to develop a walkable town center in Farragut with public gathering spaces, unique shopping and dining, and increased housing options. That process is now underway at the Farragut Town Center at Biddle Farms. Now that Topgolf has opened on Outlet Drive, we are also poised to meet the goal of creating a family entertainment hub. These amenities, along with Farragut’s interconnected neighborhoods, make our town a truly desirable place to raise a family, grow a business or stop for a visit.

“Since the Town of Farragut incorporated just over 40 years ago, we have relied on residents to boldly work to establish the kind of community they want for themselves and the generations to come. We have seen many successes in our short time as a town, and I fi rmly believe volunteering and giving back to the community are the key to our success, now and in years to come. The Town of Farragut is working hard to realize its vision, and we will continue to work hard to reach our goals in the future.” “ Since the Town of Farragut incorporated just over 40 years ago, we have relied on residents to boldly work to establish the kind of community they want for themselves and the generations to come.”
