According to the Tennessee Department of Health (6/21), Knox County is home to seven hospitals and more than 2,500 beds. The hospitals are Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center (Downtown Knoxville), North Knoxville Medical Center (Powell), Select Specialty Hospital North – North Knoxville (Powell), Parkwest Medical Center (West Knoxville), Turkey Creek Medical Center (Farragut), University of Tennessee Medical Center (Downtown Knoxville), and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (Downtown Knoxville).

An additional 788 hospital beds are available to the region at hospitals in the contiguous counties. Those hospitals include: Ft Loudoun Medical Center (Lenoir City, TN), Blount Memorial Hospital (Maryville, TN), Le Conte Medical Center (Sevierville, TN), Methodist Medical Center (Oak Ridge, TN), and Roane Medical Center (Harriman, TN).

Turkey Creek Medical Center

Parkwest Medical Center/ Covenant Health

Parkwest Medical Center, a member of Knoxville-based Covenant Health, “is West Knoxville’s premier medical facility,” a company press release stated. Parkwest recently was named a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital by Fortune.com/IBM Watson Health, and was the only Tennessee hospital awarded this recognition. “In addition to providing the area’s leading cardiac services, Parkwest offers outstanding care throughout the facility including orthopedic and surgical services, labor & delivery, therapy services, imaging services, endoscopy, neurodiagnostics and sleep medicine, critical care, emergency care and cancer services accredited by the Commission on Cancer,” the release further stated.
