Welcome to West End Church of Christ, a restoration church founded in 1929. Each Sunday morning, our family opens its doors to be reminded that our value of Jesus is derived from the value of our brokenness. We are a broken people living in a broken world in need of a Savior.
Our vision: A Place To Belong We believe everyone, no matter their background, is created to belong to the kingdom of God.
Our values: diversity embracing unique differences and experiences strengthens our family
generational roots discipleship that builds on our past and for the sustainable future
grace in love how we treat one another especially in times of disagreement and conflict
personal bible study ownership through study and prayer of our own individual spiritual growth
Thank you for joining our family and know that there is a place for you here. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Our church is blessed to have a Visitation Team that meets the third Tuesday of each month. Jan Welden and Kris Thurman currently serve as the leads for this team. Each month, the team gathers to pray over the needs and concerns of our church family. Individual cards (similar to those outlined on this page) are distributed to ensure a visit or a note of encouragement is received from someone on the team. An open invitation is extended to anyone who would like to serve on the visitation team. This is a group exemplifying our church value of grace in love. You can e-mail Jan or Kris for more details.
Worship p2: “a matter of the heart” Romans 12:1-8 Chapter 12 of the book of Romans represents a shift in gears by the author (Paul). In the first 11 chapters, Paul is providing a basis for our belief. After climbing what is an enormous theological hill in these first chapters, the apostle Paul begins in chapter 12 to supply us with a basis for our behavior.
First doctrine, then duty. We find that this is the manner in which Paul often connected to this audience. This morning as we continue our series, Worship, we need to understand that true worship is a matter of the heart. Our doctrine is one of relationship. A relationship that nudges the child of God to respond in big ways including: 1. Presentation: We are to present our bodies to God as living sacrifices 2. Separation: We are to avoid conforming to the world’s ways 3. Transformation: We are to renew our minds and thus change our lives 4. Demonstration: We are to prove we belong to God by doing his will The apostle's outline for what is a logical response to God’s grace is our spiritual act of worship. It is a doctrinal matter of the heart that cannot be accomplished in one simple hour on Sunday morning. It is a big ask of the child of God. However, when truly touched by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, big asks naturally usher a big responses. May the Spirit of the Lord be present with us this morning as we gather together to celebrate our individual lives of worship.
