Introduction to Geography 3 credits This course concerns the scope of geography and the influence of geographical factors on human culture. Population, settlement, economic activity, and social and political organizations are among the topics that will be covered. Physical Geology 4 credits A study of the physical and structural features of the earth and of the physical, chemical, and biological processes that produced them. Some of the topics included are: the work of running water, wind, and glaciers; the formation and deformation of rock beds; the nature of rocks, minerals, earthquakes, and volcanoes; the interior and the origin of earth. Field trips to local points of geological interest and laboratory work with topographic maps and mineral and rock specimens constitute a part of the work.
