El 7 de septiembre de 2013 miles de madrileños estaremos con los dedos cruzados para que el sueño se haga realidad o lo que es lo mismo que Madrid sea elegida ¡por fin! sede olímpica para los próximos Juegos de 2020. Y no solamente por lo que ello significa deportivamente hablando sino porque supondría un excelente empuje a nuestra maltrecha economía, porque generaría empleo, atraería inversores, promovería el turismo y la imagen de nuestra ciudad saldría reforzada. De momento, ya hemos ganado a dos candidatas: Bakú y Doha. Ahora tenemos que tratar de eliminar a Tokio y Estambul, las dos sedes que como Madrid luchan por llevarse estos Juegos a casa. Aunque hemos sacado la mejor nota, un 8.08, Tokio nos sigue muy de cerca con un 8.02 y realmente va a ser la que nos lo va a poner difícil. Nosotros de momento ya contamos con logo, obra del aragonés Luis Peiret que ha elegido la Puerta de Alcalá como puerta de futuro y unidad con los colores olímpicos y el número 2020 que sale de sus arcos. Barcelona’92 puso el listón muy alto en cuanto a organización y participación, pero si algo cartacteriza a Madrid es el ser una ciudad acogedora, tolerante, apasionada, solidaria..., que lo mismo está acostumbrada a celebrar una cumbre internacional, un acontecimiento deportivo, una visita papal o el día del Orgullo Gay. Y con todo pone el mismo empeño, el mismo entusiasmo de hacer bien las cosas. Esta vez sí, Madrid se lo merece. Los madrileños nos lo merecemos. ¡Ojalá el 7 de septiembre de 2013 podamos celebrarlo!
