What are the Saturday Seminars?

The 1-Year MBA program is an accelerated 36-credit hour Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree option that allows you to earn an MBA in one year in a cohort-based format with a structured schedule and unique features beginning each fall.

The Saturday Seminars will be held on select Saturdays to provide you with professional communication skills and leadership development competencies that are critical to success in today’s workplace. The leadership workshops are taught by Dr. David Pendleton, Webster visiting professor and associate fellow of Oxford University’s Saïd Business School.

What is the 1-Year MBA Program at Webster University?

The 1-Year MBA offers you a rigorous business education that integrates information and theories from various disciplines including: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, production operations and strategic management. In addition, you can build your global network through group projects, gain international perspective with a Walker Global Hybrid Course and acquire substantial leadership skills.

How is the program structured? The program is structured as a cohort which means you and a small group of your peers work through the courses together. The defined schedule includes two courses each nine-week term plus a series of Saturday Seminars and an online course option. This format allows you to complete your MBA in a single year.

How is the 1-Year MBA Program different from other MBA options at Webster? The 1-Year MBA offers the same MBA core curriculum as the standard MBA. The difference is that this program is structured in an accelerated format with integrated global connectivity among cohorts around the world. Electives designed specifically for this program focus on leadership development, professional communication and experiential learning. The program also includes an individualized career management component to help you prepare for new job opportunities during and after you complete your degree.

Personalized resources and individual job coaching will help you through a process of self-discovery, personal branding and career action planning. You will have opportunities to explore career options, establish goals and develop a plan to get there.

When will the program begin? The 1-Year MBA begins in the fall term only. Students are encouraged to apply by May 12 for early consideration into the program. All applications must be submitted by July 11, 2014.

What are the tuition and fees? Tuition for the 2014-2015 cohort is a flat rate of $20,000. This includes 36-credit hours of tuition plus your Career Management, Leadership Assessment and Capstone Simulation Fees.

What is required for admission? The 1-Year MBA requires an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and successful completion of the prerequisite course requirements prior to the start of the program. Students may meet the prerequisite requirement through previous undergraduate coursework, completion of BUSN 5600 Accounting Theory and Practice and BUSN 5620 Current Economic Analysis or an approved equivalent.
