In this new world that fills us with both uncertainty and possibility, our students and faculty shine bright in their achievements. WMA has made a difference in the lives of students for 98 years by inspiring spiritual growth, intellectual challenge, community service, and compassion for others. You can make an immediate impact on a current student by joining the WMA community to support the Waldron Fund. Your support symbolizes your belief in our mission and participation demonstrates our community’s shared commitment to our students and faculty. The Waldron Fund is a critical component of our operating budget and enables us to successfully fulfill our mission. Gifts made to the Waldron Fund directly support educational programs, financial aid, professional development, technology, athletics, the arts, and so much more. Every gift matters, makes an impact, and helps WMA and its students to thrive.

WMA STUDENTS LIVE OUR MISSION EACH DAY

Waldron Mercy Academy, a Catholic school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is a diverse, faith community rooted in the gospel values of mercy and justice. We are a school where the joy of discovery inspires serious study, social responsibility, and strong faith.

SHINING IN ACHIEVEMENT For nearly 100 years, our students have shone brightly in their pursuit of excellence in academics at WMA. For the third time in our history, the U.S. Department of Education designated Waldron Mercy Academy as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School for its excellence in leadership, teaching, curriculum, student achievement, parent involvement, and community support. Awards are wonderful, but what shines brightest in our hallways every day are our students. They are learning to be leaders, welcoming new challenges and experiences, and demonstrating resilience and kindness. These are WMA’s greatest achievements.

SHINING IN SERIOUS STUDY We nurture students to be engaged, passionate, and successful learners who grow and feel connected in the world. Our individualized curriculum is just one of the many steps WMA takes to educate the whole child and make sure each student is prepared for what comes next. Our students are recognizable by their confidence in themselves, because they have been guided and encouraged to learn, to lead, and to soar.

SHINING IN FAITH WMA is a dynamic and inclusive Catholic learning community that enriches our students’ spiritual growth and development. Students learn and worship together, developing a deep commitment to faith and a joyful relationship with God. We focus on inspiring young children to become confident leaders who embody faith, knowledge and compassionate service.

SHINING IN SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY We are called to service through our Mercy traditions of justice, peace, and compassion. As the students mature at WMA, these experiences challenge them and foster growth. Waldron Mercy students use their academic skills to think about ways to help their communities. When we expose our students to a variety of outreach opportunities, we invite them to make connections between what they learn in the classroom and how they live their lives in service to others.

SHINING IN COMMUNITY WMA is a family and a community like no other, rooted in Mercy. Mercy is showing God’s loving kindness and compassion to all. It is love in action. The Mercy qualities of welcome, hospitality, inclusivity, compassion and service, especially to those in need, are the hallmarks of our WMA community. Our students learn that service is not just something we do, it’s something we share. Waldron Mercy has a rich tradition of supporting families and creating a strong community atmosphere.

Dear Members of the Waldron Mercy Community, As both a past parent and former employee of this wonderful school, I step into my new role as Chair of the Board of Trustees with much enthusiasm for the WMA community. I am excited to help continue the work of the Board and Mrs. Braca in supporting, promoting, and preserving WMA’s mission and heritage. But we need your help! Your support of the Waldron Fund will enhance our ability to create an environment that inspires students to achieve academic excellence, deepen their faith, develop social responsibility, and fully embrace life as they ready themselves for high school and beyond. To quote Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, “We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us”. These words are at the heart of our mission as it refers to our Catholic faith as well as the traditions and charism of the Sisters of Mercy. Can we rely on you to help us continue to carry out this important mission? Please know that each and every gift we receive makes a difference for WMA and the students we serve. We remain deeply grateful for your support in helping us sustain a bright and shining future for the entire WMA community. Sincerely,

Joan M. Barone

Chairperson, Board of Trustees
