Foundation Highlights Despite the continuing effects of the economic slowdown, the Wake Tech Foundation continues to grow and diversify its funding base. Through the generosity of our family and friends – alumni, employees, corporate partners, retirees, and others – the Foundation raised over $1.7 million during the 2009-10 fiscal year. We are extremely grateful for your support! A few highlights: • Wake Tech employee contributions topped $75,700 – nearly 40% of all individual giving! • The Foundation awarded more than $156,000 in scholarships and emergency financial assistance to over 200 students. • Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company invested $150,000 to launch the Center for Entrepreneurship at Wake Tech • Nine foster care youth continued to pursue higher education at Wake Tech with the help of the Foundation’s Fostering Bright Futures program. • The Foundation provided $699,059 (cash and in-kind) to support Wake Tech programs. • Wake Tech faculty and staff continue to improve their skills – and the Foundation helped by providing $43,000 to 60 employees.

Nine foster care youth continued to pursue higher education at Wake Tech with the help of the Foundation’s Fostering Bright Futures program.

• Two talented new staff members joined the Foundation to assist with outreach: Virginia Parker, Director of Strategic Partnerships; and Margaret Griffin, Development Specialist. Every contribution is vitally important! Everything the Foundation does helps Wake Tech in its mission to provide quality education and training that meets the changing needs of our growing region. Together, we can continue to support this noble endeavor. Thank you for your commitment to Wake Tech and to our community. Joseph Cooper, Jr. Chairman, Wake Tech Foundation Board of Directors
