An exclusive option was signed in April 2013 with Nashville entrepreneur Josh Nickols, Ph.D. In the spring of 2013, InvisionHeart was one of 10 companies selected to participate in the JumpStart Foundry Class of 2013, a 14-week startup accelerator program. Center for Technology Transfer & Commercialization

Engaging Partners New ventures formed to commercialize technology developed at Vanderbilt have a positive impact at Vanderbilt and in our community. They contribute to the growth and diversification of the high-tech and life sciences industry in the region, create high-quality employment opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and fund additional research at Vanderbilt. What are some things that CTTC does to enhance the chances for new venture success? • We launch a few strategically-selected companies, focusing on quality versus quantity. • We connect new ventures with the right people who can help the new venture thrive. • New venture opportunities are vetted internally and by external advisors before launching. • In transactions with new ventures, time is of the essence. Our process is built to operate at the speed of business. • CTTC has professionals on staff who are exclusively dedicated to new venture creation. • We connect with investors to advance business opportunities for our portfolio technologies. Technology is important, but our new venture model is business-centric. • Vanderbilt will participate in corporate governance role only so long as our role can add value. • We accommodate the transactional needs of new ventures. Our business approach is flexible. Improving the probability of a new venture’s success is a priority that demands attention to all of the critical components.
