JEWELLERS family owned, established business since 1970

Diamonds are one of the most desirable gemstones in the world. Here, Kay Bradley tells you what to look for when buying. Kay and the Bradley family are all diamond experts and every stone is carefully selected to ensure each piece of jewellery is bespoke. From the source of the stone to the hallmarking, finishing and polishing, Bradley’s can explain your diamond’s journey. Kay has devised a simple buying guide for choosing that perfect diamond…. • Research and buy from an ethical company like Bradley’s who have over 50 years of experience.

• Buy British-made products as Kay believes these are world-leading in jewellery design. • Look for the 4 C’s: Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat Weight. • Ensure the stone is radiant and sparkles when tilted. • Be conscious of synthetically-grown diamonds which are not natural. • Truly colourless diamonds are very rare, but Bradley’s carry a fine selection of certified ‘D Colour Diamonds.’ • Quality comes before quantity. Invest in the best stone you can afford! • Always get your diamond insured and ask for a valuation document. • All these factors affect the price, so think about your budget and expect to exceed it!

Park & Ride in the City If you are travelling by car, York’s Park & Ride service offers an easy way to get into the city. Six sites are located around the ring road, offering modern buses (all adapted for pushchairs and wheelchairs), secure parking and free travel for up to two children accompanied by a full-fare paying adult. Buses run from early morning every 10/15 minutes throughout the day and run later on Thursdays throughout the Christmas period. Concessionary Travel Pass holders pay a reduced fare of £1 when boarding at a Park & Ride site after 9am on Mondays to Fridays and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. There is no charge when boarding at any other bus stops, including the city centre, at these times. Seasonal Timetable On Saturdays from 19 November up until Christmas, additional buses will be available. Details of Christmas services can be found at www.itravelyork.info/park-and-ride.

Late Night Shopping There will be late night shopping in York on Thursday evenings from 17 November right up to 22 December. The last bus from the city centre will depart at 9.30pm. York Designer Outlet/ The Ice Factor The Designer Outlet Park and Ride will run until 9.30pm Monday to Saturday between 17 November and 23 December. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve The last buses leave the city centre at 6pm and car parks are locked after the last bus has departed. There is no overnight parking available. There will be no services on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Boxing Day A special Boxing Day service will run on 26 December. For further details, visit www.itravelyork.info/park-and-ride.
