Bloom! is back in miniature this summer with a host of brilliant events, workshops and offerings for all the family. With a selection of some of York’s best-loved green-fingered businesses, local growers, community garden groups and many more, we hope that you enjoy the weekend and will be back for more next summer!

Please note that we are aiming to keep this festival plastic free as far as possible. Please ensure that you recycle everything you can in the bins available.

Take a peek under the canvas of our old school marquee, and see what entries have come in for Bloom’s first Flower & Produce Show. This traditional event with a contemporary twist will showcase the talent of York’s most green-fingered residents and those with a flair for baking, jam making and more! Best in show prizes from The National Trust, The Dean Court Hotel, The Botanist, Yorganics, Neal’s Yard Remedies, Rainbows Ceramics & Fortyfive Vinyl Café. York Minster Florists Get your cameras out and snap a selfie surrounded by a beautiful floral picture frame created by the wonderful floristry team at York Minster.

ibloom Florists This one you simply won’t be able to miss! Totally fresh, all locally grown, this installation created by York’s ibloom florists will definitely wow!

Tessa Bunney Photography #britishflowers An outdoor photographic exhibition showcasing a selection of stunning British Flowers, each grown by British Flower Farmers.

DEAN’S PARK GARDENS Take this opportunity to purchase from, and speak to, local flower farmers, florists, nurseries and specialist growers from across the County, each of whom will be showcasing their unique products for you to take home and add to your own garden, vegetable patch or windowsill. Expect plants and posies from Askham Bryan Horticultural College, iBloom Florists, Botanic, Fayrefield Plant Nursery, Miss Pots Plant Emporium and floral photography from Tessa Bunney!

Another fun and particularly therapeutic workshop with artist Mim Robson. Create your own flower mandalas (temporary artworks made with flowers, leaves and petals) from items found around the Dean’s Park Gardens.

Take advantage of being outside, to have a go and learn hula hoop and poi skills with York’s ‘High Hoops’. How many hoops can you keep going at once?

Join arts practitioner and bee enthusiast Florence Boyd for a fun, informative and creative workshop exploring the life of the humble bumble bee!
