Colonnade House... A new addition this year to Worthing‟s Creative and Cultural scene is Colonnade House, a striking 1930‟s building on the corner of Warwick Street, a vibrant area full of cafes and independent shops. Government funding, alongside support from the council and a local trust, has enabled the renovation of the building to create ten serviced workspaces on three floors above a gallery and events space at ground level. The workspace facilities are aimed at the developing creative industries in Worthing. In addition Colonnade House will act as a Creative Hub for the local creative community, sharing information and forging connections through events, exhibitions, training, newsletters and social media. Over time, Colonnade House will provide a base for the creation of high quality and innovative work by local artists and designers. As Worthing‟s economy continues to grow, the contribution of arts and culture will be increasingly important in enriching the town‟s cultural heritage, as well as providing career inspiration and opportunity for the area‟s young people.
