WHAT’S ON IN BLACKPOOL
Welcome back to the home of live entertainment where the shows, concerts and amazing events just keep on coming. Inside this guide, you will find a spectacular array of entertainment to ensure that this year ends on a high. For only the second time in history, 2021 sees a two-month extension to the Illuminations season (until January 3, 2022) giving visitors an even bigger opportunity to experience what is often described as the greatest free show on earth. The Illuminations season starts on the night of Friday 3 September when Shirley Ballas, head judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, switches on the lights at the end of a live music concert in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. From then on, the events come thick and fast with the British Country Music Festival, World Fireworks, SLIMEFEST, the awardwinning Lightpool Festival over the October half-term, and a huge variety of shows and entertainment to suit all tastes. From mid-November onwards, Blackpool will be getting into the Christmas mood, starting with the Friends Festive exhibition at the Winter Gardens and including a whole sled-load of Christmas-themed entertainment including a free ice-rink on the Golden Mile, magic forest, stunning light projection shows, festive market, and a whole range of pantos and shows, We hope you enjoy this guide and use it to plan those special moments in the UK’s favourite beach resort.
