VILLA DESCRIPTION VILLA I252 IN CAMPIGLIA MARITTIMA, TUSCANY COAST, ITALY This old castello was built at the beginning of the 16th century, and was once the residence of the Grand Duke Leopoldo II of Tuscany. It has now for many years been the property of the Merciai family, who have in time transformed the castello into an elegant home where guests can spend an unforgettable holiday. modern bathrooms. The majestic salons on the ground floor contain many of the paintings that belonged to the Grand Duke. In recent years many members of the international nobility have stayed there and have been able to appreciate the hospitality of the owners of the house and the efficiency of the personnel at the service of its guests. In the large grounds you look onto the hill of olive trees in the direction of the nearby Elba island, and there is also a large swimming-pool with patios at the side and a bar area furnished for relaxation and a garden with splendid roses and tall trees. There is a gym with dressing-room and a jacuzzi that can be used all year round. The ground floor of the castello is the reception area with salons, living-rooms and the dining-room; the use of the kitchen is reserved for the personnel, who will be at your service following the solutions described in the offer. Campiglia Marittima lies just a few minutes from the coast. San Vincenzo has the best-known bathing beach, and is known internationally not only for the nice beach but also for a famous restaurant that has for years been listed among the top national restaurants. Pisa airport is about 70 kms away, Florence 150 kms and Rome 250 kms.GROUND FLOOR: large entrance salon with antique paintings on the walls and an 18th century table, on the left you come to a living/reading room and a second living-room with fireplace that gives access to a room containing rare antique objects. There is satellite TV, videorecorder, internet point. Leaving the entrance salon to the right you come to the large dining-room and a second, smaller and more intimate dining-room with the kitchen next to it (for the exclusive use of the personnel). Access to the first floor is via either of two staircases, one on the left and one on the right of the entrance hall. MIDDLE FLOOR: 1 double bedroom with bathroom, 2 junior suites with panoramic view. FIRST FLOOR: 3 suites, one of which has a terrace, 2 double bedrooms with bathroom, 1 junior suite (the Grand Duke's bedroom) with frescoes and 17th century bedstead. SECOND FLOOR: 1 junior suite with view. All of the bedrooms have satellite TV, telephone, internet access, safe, mini-bar, radio-alarm.
