Convenient, accessible and affordable health care is vital to the Greater Susquehanna Valley. The region is furnished with a multitude of medical providers dedicated to ensuring the overall health and well-being of the Valley’s population. EVANGELICAL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Evangelical Community Hospital – a nonprofit, independent community hospital in Lewisburg – has provided convenient, accessible, and affordable health care for nearly 90 years. The hospital offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient series, including joint replacements through the Center for Orthopaedics, women’s care through OB/ GYN of Evangelical, the Center for Breast Health, and The Family Place, interventional cardiovascular care and advanced surgical services. Evangelical’s commitment to providing outstanding patient care is evident in the continual growth and expansion of its services. In addition to continually adding new medical specialists, the hospital anticipates the opening of a new Heart and Vascular Center in the summer of 2015. One of the county’s largest employers, Evangelical is licensed to accommodate overnight patients and acute rehab patients. Around 1,000 babies are born each year at The Family place and the hospital includes a primary stroke center, diabetes center, community health and wellness program, and more. The Hospital serves residents of Snyder, Union, Northumberland, and Lycoming counties and their surrounding areas. 22

SUNBURY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL & OUTPATIENT CENTER Sunbury Community Hospital & Outpatient Center, another great resource in the region, is accredited by The Joint Commission and features 118 patient beds and a directory full of services and specialties. Emergency care, family medicine, physical and occupational therapy, neurological sciences, cardiac rehabilitation, a sleep lab and much more are all available on campus. The Valley is also served by two hospitals under the direction of Susquehanna Health – Williamsport Regional Medical Center and Divine Providence Hospital – as well as an extensive group of specialty clinics and physician practices offering everything from dental and chiropractic care to primary care and more.
