Do you ever notice how we miss extraordinary moments with the routine and hustle of our daily lives? When we pause for a brief moment to look around, we start to see, hear and read countless stories of neighbors helping neighbors and communities coming together to solve pressing challenges. Extraordinary acts of kindness are taking place right now, whether it’s students volunteering their time, or someone donating gently used clothes, or a family delivering meals or painting walls at their church. Perhaps your company is organizing an employee volunteer day or is forming a team for a charity’s fun run? Maybe it’s your faith-based group, or a block of neighbors, banding together to support a family experiencing hardship? Often, an act of kindness does not take a lot of time or resources, but is elevated because the service alone is extraordinary and the impact is profound. Sometimes the hard part about giving back is getting started or learning where to look for those opportunities to get involved. Giving DuPage proudly presents the 13th Annual Giving Guide, the DuPage County Volunteering Resource Guide. The guide lists 190+ local nonprofit organizations, with over 300 volunteer engagement opportunities, making it easier to connect volunteers and donors with a cause or local charity organization. Giving DuPage also offers the same resource online through the Volunteer Opportunity Portal at givingdupage.org. The portal site lists over 400 volunteer opportunities, in-kind donation needs, nonprofit events and jobs, all searchable by cause, geography or keywords.

Giving DuPage Executive Director

The Annual Giving Guide is also a product of generosity. The Daily Herald has been our steadfast partner in producing the guide and has helped us to reach over 100,000 subscribers since 2011. The wonderful advertisers make it possible to offer the guide for free at area libraries and community events. We also recognize the tremendous work of local nonprofit organizations, whose programs and services serve critical needs and enrich our lives. Last, but never least, we applaud your volunteerism, act of kindness and charitable contribution, as it represents the power of the DuPage community. Thank you for your service! Sincerely,

Shefali M. Trivedi Executive Director
