The Very Rev. J . W. R. Maguire, C. S. V., President of St. Viator College, was absent from the school for the greater portion of last week attending the services for «Mother" Jones, well-known labor leader, whose death occurred on December first at her home in Washington. Father Maguire delivered the fun· era I oration during the services held in St. Gabriel's Church in Washington, and also delivered the sermon during the final services before interrment in the Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive, Illinois.
