Associate of Applied Science Degree Do you love plants and digging in the dirt? The Horticulture Technology AAS Degree may be for you. Horticulture is the art and science of the cultivation of plants and their relationships with people. This degree is intended for those who wish to improve and/ or develop skills in the production and cultivation of plants or the design and construction of outdoor spaces.

Program Length 2 years (5 semesters) Transfer Objectives horticulture, agriculture,

environmental science and studies, soils, botany, and natural resource management.

Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll

save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

A native of Southwest Virginia, Ben Casteel brings a passion for the land and culture of Appalachia to the program. With degrees in Agriculture and Horticulture from Virginia Tech, Prescott College, and Virginia Highlands, Ben is well versed in the knowledge and skills of the green industries.
