FROM THE VOID: ARTIST STATEMENT My intent is to continue a body of work primarily focused on depicting portraits of fictional humanoid being posed in foreground, and scenes of violence between two individuals in the act of summoning or vanquishing. My Visual work continues to be informed by ancient art, myths and legends as well as Science Fiction literature, short stories and essays. My illustrations draw from depictions of deities or martyrs and struggles between monsters, demons and gods placed in unearthly planes of existence. In this void I create my own Mythical heroes, villains, gods, demons, and fantastic creatures, in a limitless expanse that is both infinite and intentionally sparse. Here I summon beings and invite the viewer to glimpse altered realties of potential futures and undiscovered past, blending existing imagery from antiquity with my imagination. Stephen Scott
